9 Healthy Nuts That Are Low in Carbs
Nuts are known for being high in healthy fats and plant-based protein while being low in carbs. Therefore, most nuts can fit into a low-carb eating plan, though certain kinds are particularly low in carbs. For those following stricter low-carb diets like the ketogenic diet, sticking to lower-carb nuts

I am new to LCHF. I feel great after practising LCHF. As a part of my LCHF diet, I took Amul cheese slices which had fat content of 26% and protein of 20%, no carbohydrate. I took just 2 slices ( each slice weighing 20 gm) in the morning and 2 slices in the evening. After 3 weeks, I find my BP which

Palliative care - questions to ask
We have an appointment today with a
palliative
care
nurse who works in one of the hospices in our area. My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last Monday, for which there is no treatment available. I know the nurse will review pain meds and ask about mum’s wishes. What else should we ask?

Prompted by the Nalakrats / Tall_Allen Debate.
I leave my computer for a few hours & suddenly Bill48162 has 31 replies & Nalakrats is up to 64. I doubt that this post will be as popular, & some will view it as a downer, but I intend it as a manifesto for the use of supplements. Do You Know the Ins and Outs about Palliative Care?
A friend of mine wrote a blog post about
Palliative
Care
that really tells you what it is (and isn't). One sentence in the blog clears up one misconception lots of people seem to have: Hospice is always
palliative
care
, but
palliative
care
is not always hospice. That's a very huge distinction!!

The Ketogenic Diet: A Detailed Beginner's Guide to Keto
The ketogenic diet (or keto diet, for short) is a low-carb, high-fat diet that offers many health benefits. In fact, over 20 studies show that this type of diet can help you lose weight and improve your health. Ketogenic diets may even have benefits against diabetes, cancer, epilepsy and Alzheimer's

Lancet study on carbs: a critique
This is quite long, so rather than clutter up Zest's thread (or the other one discussing the newspaper editorial) I thought I'd better create a separate one, simply because lot of people might find my comments too boring to respond to :) First off (and I'm not pretending this is an academic observation

How to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation? Reduce use of smart devices!
When the book written by
palliative

nurse Bronnie Ware came about, she titled it Regrets of the Dying. This is powerful stuff. How much are you truly living your life? One of the top regrets was neglecting friendships.

So I’m doing this.....
I’m determined to run as much as possible as all the funds are going to the
palliative
care
unit that took care of my big sister who passed away last August at only 45 years old. The teams made up of my cousins & their spouses so a family affair.

TUMOUR HCC (cancer) No transplant. No treatment. I can’t accept this.
The doctor wants me to start thinking about
palliative
care
. None of this makes sense to me. I don’t understand how they can just give up. I certainly can’t give up. I want to look at alternative, natural ways.

The OT from the
palliative
care
team came out to see me last week. She has arranged for some equipment for me such as perch stools, raised toilet seat and a mattress adjuster. It is amazing how much difference this equipment has made. I find bending and lying flat really uncomfortable.
