Nerve block for wrist surgery
Just wondering if anyone has had experience of an operation under Nerve Block as opposed to General Anaesthetic. I have just had a plate put in my wrist due to a fall and besides it being the worst experience of my life, my Fibromyalgia has drastically worsened. Wondering if I should have opted for General

Anyone have experience with Provenge? Especially on PSA tests?
For my history, I was diagnosted with Prostrate cancer in 2018. Now 70 years old. I had Surgery in late 2018 where they removed my prostrate and found cancer in 2 lymph nodes. I have had 2 salvage radiation sessions, which appeared to be successful. I have been on Lupron, essentially since surgery

cost of Gold Fiducial Markers
I had three markers put into my prostate to assist targeting the Xray for radiotherapy. Whereas my Medicare advantage plan Humana paid for the procedure, the office nurse said I need to pay $75 for the markers as it is not covered. Is this true??? I have found no evidence for this.

Hi, I've had a bizarre array of health issues over 18 mos., head to toe. All types of labs/imaging & doctors. No major urological issues were involved. PSA in 3/22 was 2.5 (2.6 in 2020). 11/22 I repeated many labs. PSA elevated to 5. Got MRI -- PiRads 4. Biopsy GL 4+3, PNI, lesion contained

Dave Barry: A journey into my colon - and yours
A plagiarised version of an article by Dave Barry, published in the Miami Herald in 2008, appeared in one of my newsfeeds recently. I thought I'd share it here, as the message for 50-74 year-olds:
screen yourself for colorectal cancer
, is as relevant today as it was fifteen years ago.

Radiation after Radical Prostatectomy with Lymph Node Removal in Non Metastatic and Metastatic Men. Need some answers.
For anyone following this post, just asking for clarity on the differences and to share your individual experiences. I had a radical prostatectomy with lymph node removal only 8, negative for pca. But, found with positive EPE margins, bladder wall, and microscopic bladder neck. A RO mentioned radiation

hello, I have my first belimumab injection next week. Does anyone have any tips? I’m a bit nervous because I had a different biologic years ago for cancer treatment and found it pretty hard going.

numb chin syndrome
I seem to have a numb chin syndrome, a good week now. The cause should be a metastasis on my skull, pressing on a nerve and causing the numbness of the chin. Next week I will have a ct of the skull.Anyone more info?

Follow Up
Hi guys, I know you will remember the farce that was my treatment - so no no need to do 10 A4 worth of words. Just say last year I never got a follow up - until almost a year later. This time I had my BCG treatment for BC and a week Wednesday I have a Cystoscopy to see if the treatment has worked

Bone CT results.
Hello everyone, I am oligometastic. After prostatectomy 3.5 years ago, I had two mets in the femur. They were treated succesfully with stereotactict radiotherapy. My PSA currently and for the last 33 months is <0.01 Recent Bone CT scan results finds 22 mm new sclerotic metastasis in the femur.

HDR BT Salvage Therapy
Hello All I just completed the second BT procedure at MSK. Pain level was maybe 3 but mostly gone the next morning with some soreness. My next step I’m told is bloodwork in 3 months which I’m not concerned about. I am concerned about the 6 month MRI which could show if any cancer still remains. When

The following two articles were included in post by a member over at the HU CLLSupport site. (Thanks, Kwenda.) Both are review papers that look at the effects of diet and exercise on health outcomes. The second paper is much more technical in nature and is from researchers in Portugal. I'm including
