HDR BT Salvage Therapy

Hello All

I just completed the second BT procedure at MSK. Pain level was maybe 3 but mostly gone the next morning with some soreness. My next step I’m told is bloodwork in 3 months which I’m not concerned about. I am concerned about the 6 month MRI which could show if any cancer still remains. When the doctor came by I only had 3 questions. Did he see anything positive, negative or surprising during treatment. He said no everything went smoothly. I have one more hormone shot and then hopefully i’m done. I guess it’s now just a waiting game.

Congratulations,I too had HDBT + EBRT + 2 yrs of ADT. I found the first two weeks to be absolutely miserable. First peeing shards of glass, then diarrhea then hemorrhoids. By two weeks, everything was back to normal. Good luck.

Thanks Jancapper I spoke too soon now I’m peeing a little blood. I feel good and plan on taking a 3 hour drive tomorrow if no more blood.

Congrats on completing BT, hopefully it was successful. Next week is my four year BT anniversary, and have had no SE's at all except for some urgency the first two weeks. Good luck!

Now you know exactly how it is in the Army. "Hurry up, and wait"...... Hope your waiting is worth it..... you're at one of the best Cancer Care Hospitals in the world (MSK).... Good Vibes to you...........
