Uti and vaginal irritation

.I suffer from recurrant uti .I also have on going vaginal itching on and off .does anyone have this prob and could uti cause irritation. Would appreciate any information thank you and have a nice day 🥲

Hello Dextersam. I'm sorry that you're suffering at the moment. I think you should see your gp as I have suffered with irritation. That turned out to be lichen sclerosus. I also have had UTI's. I just put it down to my Lupus. For the lichen sclerosus I was prescribed a steroid to use for 3 weeks. Now I just use it if I get a flare up!

I’m not sure if this can be related but check estrogen levels. Lower levels of estrogen have common symptoms of reoccurring UTIs and vaginal irritation. Lichen Sclerosis is another thing to look into. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi there! Yes, I had the same problem as I entered my late 40's. I could not figure out what was going on. But in the end, it was low estrogen. It took me a few years to figure out that I needed vaginal estrogen cream to get rid of the UTIs and vaginal irritation/itching. I've been using vaginal estrogen cream for about a year now and it has helped me. When I first started the cream it burned and was so uncomfortable but I stuck with it and the burning eventually went away. All the uti's and pain caused my pelvic muscles to tense up and now I have the problem of pelvic floor dysfunction, so I'm trying to overcome that with physical therapy and medication. Menopause has really taken a toll on my nether regions. Never had the hot flashes or period pain, just vaginal issues. I hope this helps.

I am 80 and mine started about 6 years ago. I have beer to many Drs. the last time was a few weeks ago on a weekend. ( Most Drs. here in the US don’t work weekends.) I ended up at an Urgent Care. The Dr. there said my vagina looks like raw hamburger. Ugh. I don’t itch just a horrible burning. I even wear white cotton gloves to bed in case I am scratching.( which I doubt) I do have an appointment at Cleveland Clinic this month. Hopefully both of us will be able to get some relief.
