New AN diagnosis
Had the contract MRI this week now waiting to hear back . First MRI in Nov22 said it was 10mm not sure what the contract MRI will show ? or what to expect next . I have had tinnitus for years and started to lose my hearing in one ear about 10 months ago, thought it was age but now know its AN. Not sure

Sleep Aid 2
Asked my PCP and Cardiologist for sleep aid recommendations and got these responses: PCP: "I would stick to things like melatonin and antihistamines to avoid complications with your arrythmia as most others are going to be sedatives which can adversely affect those." Cardiologist: "Over the counter

Deteriorating hearing but no change to AN following contrast MRI
Has anyone experienced further hearing loss and several tinnitus sounds in same ear? I have had no chandpge in AN for 6 months so on watch and wait but finding it hard to follow tv without subtitles. Noticed that I now cannot use my Apple EarPod in right ear by itself. Going in social settings is completely

Had my Ent appointment
Hi everyone, I thought I would give a quick update as so many of you kindly responded to my previous post about my sudden hearing loss. I just got home from my Ent follow up after my hearing test and mri. He told me there is no tumour which is great news. Of course I’m thankful for this outcome

All due to TMJ?
2 years ago during Covid I had a face to face with a GP I did not know I told her I had earache most days headaches neck pains and a feeling of a blocked head with no mucus. With no examination she told me it was all in my head. I burst into tears and was shown out of the surgery. I tried various

Visit to the audiologist
This forum is excellent. Any thoughts from anyone would be much appreciated. I was referred to hospital by my GP in 2018 following several bouts of unexplained deafness. I have had several ear irrigation treatments prior to hospital visits but GP surgery has stopped performing this. My first hospital

ENT appointment, hearing aids.
Just had my ENT appointment. Seems the MRI scan was ok. The hearing tests show a loss of hearing bilateral and asymmetric, with an average auditive level of 32db right and 41db left. My T is worse on the left. He didn't explain these results, but recommended hearing aids both sides. He said hearing aids

Jaw Pain
Can PMR affect your jaw? I have PMR and am currently on 5mg of prednisolone. For the past 4 weeks I have had a pain in my lower jaw. Initially I thought it was related to an on ear infection but this has now cleared up after 3 lots of antibiotics. However I still have a very stiff and painful lower

Kwells / Hyoscine Hydrobromide contraindication
Does anyone happen to know why those with thyroid problems or heart conditions and those over 60, (I have all three) should speak to their doctor before taking these for motion sickness. A pharmacist who was aware of my medical conditions suggested Kwells for me. Only just read the pil in full. I haven

Really struggling
Just wanted someone to talk to. I don't think I can stand this any longer. I've had tinnitus for many years following surgery for acoustic neuroma but 3 years ago it spiked to an unbearable level and I cant stand it any longer.

Probable AN
Hi, having had symptoms for over a year, an MRI in September I now have to have another MRI with contrast. Waiting, waiting for an appointment is really having a bad effect on my mental health. I still have not seen a consultant - I just got a letter to say I probably have an AN. Am scared and worried

sleep issues
I have had constant Tinnitus mainly in Right side. CT scan revealed small cyst in right sinus, but no physical cause of Tinnitus. That was 2 years ago. I have been managing until last week when the volume increased so much I am struggling to get to sleep and when I wake up in the night it can take

Big thank you for all your replies on prophylactic azithromycin and Doxi
Big thank you for all your replies concerning whether to stop azithromycin when taking Doxi. It gives me a warm feeling that there are so many caring, compassionate people willing to help. I totally appreciate we are not medically qualified to give advice on medications. For a start we may not know

Where next?
Hi all, I have been undergoing investigation for six months for symptoms that started July 2020, but got significantly worse June 2022. Started with soreness deep in right ear when putting stethoscope or earbuds in,, progressed to eye twitch, severe headaches, full feeling in ear, tinnitus, full face

Homeopathic remedies
Hello, I am newly diagnosed with having tinnitus. I have sought help to get to the cause of it: * Seen an ENT specialist. Had my hearing checked, plus MRI scan/CT scan to investigate ear/sinus. Got the all clear. * Saw a mouth/jaw specialist. I clench my mouth/jaw and have pain/discomfort. This

Pulsatile Tinnitus complications
I have been recently diagnosed with Pulsatile Tinnitus, and when trying to get to sleep my left ear (where the pulsing is located) trembles occasionally and in addition I seem to get a seperate clicking sound, both of which wake me back up when I am dropping off. Has anyone else had anything like these

Improvement in Heraing
This is an update on my earlier post regarding hearing loss. First of all I am able to report marked improvement in my hearing. My visit to audiologist confirmed that my left ear (better one) had returned to earlier measured levels but that my right ear was below those levels taking it into 'severe'

foreign body discovered in ear canal during wax removal
Hi, Today, I went to have my ear waxing removal done by a private health company, specialising in ear matters alone. The NHS, I believe, no longer offers ear wax removal. It’s been a long, long time sibce I last had this done. Try several methods at home to. Do wax removal with very little success.

Problem with ear
I don't experience hearing loss as severe dizziness and loss of balance. Was told it was to do with shifting blood pressure. However, I am not so sure.
