Hi,
Today, I went to have my ear waxing removal done by a private health company, specialising in ear matters alone. The NHS, I believe, no longer offers ear wax removal. It’s been a long, long time sibce I last had this done. Try several methods at home to. Do wax removal with very little success.
So I bit the bullet and paid a fee to have it done privately. The experience was wonderful the most part. It gave me a lot of relief. They were pretty thorough out the process. So much so that’s how they discover a foreign body in my right ear.
They said it looked ear hair, or a piece or string or some type of fibre. They pulled it a little and my ear canal hurt. They said this fibre is taught. It seems that skin has grown over the bottom of this; fastening it in position. They asked what I’d put in my ear. I can’t think of anything string like, or any particular fibrous thing I may have put in my ear. It does give me occasional psin, especially when I tried doing ear wax removal at home. I do remember during COVID lockdown in 2020 I was getting a lot of psin in my right ear. I was unusually persists two year ago. I thought it was hay fever to be honest.
I think this thing is not all that new yet, unknown yo me until today.
It was a bit of a shock and bit of a worry as well. The nurse I saw says she going to consult an ENT specialist, in Edinborough , Scotland, thst she knows. Wants to know if the ENT specialist has seen anything like this before. Photo were taken. I have a review in two weeks time. Where this’ll lead, who knows. I’m concerned and perplexed by the whole thing. Anyone been in a similar position before?
