Alendronic Acid - I am thinking of trying without this for two or three months to see if my balance and walking improve.
I *do* have
osteopenia
(=2, I think). Has anyone had a any problems when they stopped taking it?

Ibondrate acid
Does anyone have experience of this stuff (hope I have spelt it right) my rheumy is adamant I need to take something (I won't take AA) on account of I have evidence of osteoporosis and
osteopenia
. I did take AA for 18months when I was first put onto steroids but stopped when I developed thigh pains.

I've got a stress fracture in my foot and I'm worried that this is because of low bone density associated with CD
I know I've got
osteopenia
in my lower back and hips so I'm on adcal. I was shocked at the stress fracture as I have no pain in that area, just stiffness. Even though I've got
osteopenia
in my back and hips they were fine during a recent fall from my bike on the ice.

RA/SLE overlap causing problems. My new Rheumatologist has finally accepted that desease is active, but doesn't know which.
His recommendation was to start me on a suitable Anti TNF Agent, should I deteriorate as
osteopenia
means steroids are no longer an option and I am already on 25 mg methatryxate, hydroxychlorine doesn't work for me and I am alerlic to Azthiaprine.

Calcitonin - evidence of under treated hypothyroidism ?
It plays a role in prevention of osteoporosis - I have
osteopenia
. So (possibly) QED, does my excessive dental plaque indicate a lack of calcitonin and thereby, under-treatment of my hypothyroidism? Would my GP accept this "evidence"? Does any one have any views on my "logic" about this?

Shock at the doctors today
I have
osteopenia
so was at the GPs for my calcium supplement to get started. Also I was getting bloods back that Prof Hughes asked for. Well my vitamin D I'd very low, that's a shock, my anaemia is worse, another shock.

Here's a bit of medical logic for you.
In my previous period of taking T3 my
Osteopenia
was totally stable and I am still being monitored. 2.There is no history of heart problems at all in my family. Arrhythmias are potentially dangerous, but can be monitored and treated.

DEXA: Low T score as well as low thyroid and low testosterone. Anyone else got osteo ?
T Score range is -2.9 -> -2.1 (corrected to my ethinicity, sex and age) So basically not
osteopenia
but just dropped into full osteoporosis. At 45 yrs old Just interested if anyone is taking treatment for osteo? Has it improved? How long did it take? Pete

WF for bone pain
It caused me to have
osteopenia
. I was placed on Calcichew 4 years ago, 3 months ago the Dr gave me a cheaper calcium tablet and the pain came back. I stopped taking it, after 3 weeks the pain had almost gone so I tried the medication again, more pain.

Alendronate
Hello community I have had a bone density score returned at -1.8 which technically means I have
osteopenia
a slightly higher risk of developing osteoporosis. I have been advised to take Alendronate once a week. Can anyone advise if they have problems with this?

No longer alone.
I now have
osteopenia
. Only when groups get together and share experiences things may improve. I hope the medical profession will know we are not imagining what is happening to us. I now know I am not alone.
