Osteoporosis or osteopenia treatments after esophagectomy
Has anyone had any experience with bone mineral disorders such as osteoporosis or severe
osteopenia
diagnosed after esophegectomy? And does anyone have experience with treatment of these disorders in a post-esophagectomy patient.

Bone scan and Calcium Vit D
The results of my bone scan showed
osteopenia
, no different to the scan from 5 - 6 years ago when I was started on Calcichew D3. I also upped my exercise regime and have lost weight in the past two years.

Hyperparathyroidism causing hypothyroid? Or the other way around
I also have
osteopenia
in arms spine and on the way in my neck. I have read that thyroid problems can rise calcium levels as there can be a problem with calciton. Which acts against the parathyroid hormone. Calcitonin decrease calcium levels in blood and phosphorus.

I have

Hypothyroidism osteopenia and hyperparathyroidism
I have had a Dexa scan which found
osteopenia
in my arms and spine. .. could be what's causing the high calcium in my blood due to an overactive parathyroid. But I've heard hypothyroidism can cause problems with bone turnover and cause
osteopenia
.

Denied Surgery need advice on these meds
Don't need to gain more weight either, already have high cholestrol and tryglycerides and
osteopenia
, (something he disclaims means anything as well).

Anyone seen the new ad for getting legal advice if you've used talcum powder and have ovarian cancer?
Already been diagnosed with
osteopenia
and not even menopausal yet so I also don't want to rob my bones further either. I know surgery has risks and sometimes can cause more adhesion's and scarring and possibly damage to other organs.

Latest test results
I have had a DEXA bone scan that has revealed a T score of -2.0 in my lumbar spine (
Osteopenia
) so I really need to think about bone health now. Just really wanted to check that my latest results look ok and would appreciate the wisdom of the people on here. Any advice is also appreciated.

Any Psychics?
Also given my age and my diagnoses of
osteopenia
I don't want to experiment with anything that could rob my bones and cause other disabling issues in exchange down the road like osteoporosis or arthritis. My physiotherapist has weened me off now that my insurance is drained.

Endo is a total waste of space
He also says she has severe osteoporosis - despite me saying its
osteopenia
and the severe pain is not likely to be caused by this. No mention of the flucturating TSH and T4 over the past two years - and being continually told to change levels of T4.

How do you make this decision?
go ahead with the bilateral salpingo oopherectomy to avoid future development sites, (I'm 50 so nearing the age although not yet showing in blood test the staging of menopause) or going on synthetic hormones to stop estrogen development but meanwhile risk more bone loss (I have been diagnosed with

Alendronic Acid - I am thinking of trying without this for two or three months to see if my balance and walking improve.
I *do* have
osteopenia
(=2, I think). Has anyone had a any problems when they stopped taking it?

Ibondrate acid
Does anyone have experience of this stuff (hope I have spelt it right) my rheumy is adamant I need to take something (I won't take AA) on account of I have evidence of osteoporosis and
osteopenia
. I did take AA for 18months when I was first put onto steroids but stopped when I developed thigh pains.
