Prolia vs. alternative vs. Forteo?
I've got quite bad osteoporosis in my spine (-3.7 T score), and I have
osteopenia
in my hips. I'm 59, have always been quite thin and not terribly athletic, and lactose intolerant. No fractures yet.

If your bone density as shown on a bone density (DEXA) scan (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/dexa-scan/) is lower than the average adult, but not low enough to be diagnosed as osteoporosis, this is called
osteopenia
(https://theros.org.uk/information-and-support/
osteopenia
/) and increases the risk of fractures

Zoledronic Acid ~Infusion
My hip is showing a T score of -1.6 and
Osteopenia
I am pretty sure this hasn't changed in 2 years but can't find the results. My question is, do you think this is really necessary? Been on pred since 2011.

Anybody on Zometa injection/ Zoledronic acid?
Hello everyone, I had a bone scan last week and it revealed
osteopenia
š±šØš¤Æ Iām not surprised as I feel it. My poor bones have deteriorated since I started on Anastrazole and now Iām on Exemastene. Iām 42 so I have to be on hormone therapy for 10 years and I donāt know if my bones will hold up.

Osteopenia

Tail bone
I got diagnosed with
osteopenia
about 7 years ago. Have been well but just of late have been getting a pain in my back right on the tail bone. Not sure if it is fractured?? Keep getting a pressure type pain in the groin area. Would this be the usual symptoms? Thanks all for reading

Osteopenia diagnosed
Dexa scan shows
osteopenia
, don't yet know reading. GP will call tomorrow to discuss (my request). I'm thinking this should be straightforward, that GP will keep me on Allendronic Acid, Calcium, Vitamin D and Prednisolone: I am slow tapering between 9mg and 8mg and this seems to be going well.

Addisonās with PMR
I have Addisonās disease and Iām steroid dependent with
osteopenia
, I canāt take any more steroids. What would the Dr. give me besides steroids? I was told I canāt take NSAIDs either because of the steroids and my stomach lining.

Wow, 3 in a row
Then November had bone density scan which 2 years ago said
osteopenia
and lumbar spine said too involved in metastasis to give a rating, now says normal bone density and even lumbar spine has a normal rating. I'm still in shock from all the good news.

Timings of thyroid meds, calcium and HRT
Finally, my calcium is currently low (very worrying as I already have
osteopenia
) so I need to supplement with that. Are there any timing issues with calcium? Many thanks

Slow tapering
Now have
osteopenia
and been placed on risedronate as AAcid gave me more joint pain. Have some aches since starting the risedronate so its difficult to know if its the taper or the risedronate. I'm an active person and reading posts i realise i have to learn to rest!

Osteopenia
So after being diagnosed with Osteoporosis after dr got my mri report, I was sent for a dexa scan, the scan was much better than expected and the dr says itās not Osteoporosis but
Osteopenia
, so I have a better chance now of reversing it slightly and will have another dexa scan in 2 years.

Osteoporosis treatment
Had 3-yearly Dexascans, the last one showing I had
Osteopenia
. My stomach will not tolerate Alendronic acid or similar. I take Adcal but realise with 3/4ā height loss I need to be on something that will increase bone density.
