Hi I have just been diagnosed with osteopenia after being on prednisone from August 2020,I was offered alendronic acid but refused as I’d heard so many horror stories.In 2022 I got my first dexa scan it showed some bone loss but I still thought I would be okay!

Found Thyroid UK as having issues with GP+a year ago saw private Endo who informed me Dexa results (-1.3 neck of femur, -1.9 lumbar spine) meant I had osteopenia. From another forum user heard of Bone balance which I started about 2 months ago.

I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis osteopenia after many years of hip pain and both my hips have now been replaced.

Spine - 1.8 Osteopenia Right femur - 1.9 Osteopenia Left femur -1.9 Osteopenia Had I had a scan with these results before any breakages, I would have assumed I was 'safe' and just needed to pay attention to supplements and more exercise.

Hi after getting myself better with the help of the Thyroid forum and now feeling good on my Thyroid meds (T4 &T3) my endocrinologist requested a DEXA scan last one done in 2020 and the results came in that I have gone from osteopenia to osteoporosis in my spine.

I was diagnosed with osteopenia 4 years ago and have been on 70mg Alendronic acid once a week and calcium carbonate +vit D since then. I have not had any indication from my doctor about what happens next, but will ask for some shortly.

Recently had a scan and have been diagnosed with osteopenia. Doctor prescribed Fosamax. Sounds like phosphate. Is ot compatible with CK 3b?

Update Dexa scan shows Osteopenia and seeing doc next week as endocrinologist starting me on something. Being referred to neurologist for pins and needles (different post)

Dexa scan shows a 14.5% improvement in bone density and back to Osteopenia. I have experienced side effects so will post again to let you know how long it takes to go away. Last injection was 3rd Jan. I have muscle aches/tightness, sore joints and cramping.

I am 56 and 2 years ago I had a dexa scan that showed borderline osteopenia in my hips and early osteopenia in my lower back. I have always been active, and was only 54 at that time and was a little shocked. A few months ago I went to the gynecologist for a yearly exam.

My dexa scan shows osteopenia, I guess it was inevitable. I am going gym regularly now and can manage an hour Pilates. Anyone got any diet tips, am taking vit D.

and also have just got my results back from my second DEXA scan which shows I have osteopenia . Rheumy has suggested taking Alendronic Acid .. I don’t really want to ..My results are above ..Any advice would be greatly appreciated .

hi I was diagnosed 2 years ago with osteoporosis and osteopenia in spine as I had no fractures I was just told to take calcium tablets etc then in December 2024 I had another bone density scan and actually saw a consultant he said as I am on hrt just carry on as am but then my dr called and said recent

My latest bone density scan 2 weeks ago in Perth showed that I have improved, going back from full blown osteoporosis 8 years ago to osteopenia, which is like part way between normal/healthy bone density and full osteoporosis.

Following a Dexa Scan, I have been diagnosed with Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. At the moment I am awaiting to see my doctor this week to discuss.

I'm trying to find a supplement to help increase my bone density (diagnosed with osteopenia). I found one called Bone Restore by Life Extension. Here are the ingredients> what do you think? thanks!

I have recently had a bone density scan which is in the osteopenia levels but I am 71. I don't really know what happens to the fibrosis after the sct. Has anyone with MF had fractures etc that doctors say may have been exacerbated by the mpn?

D and K for osteopenia. I was diagnosed a few years ago. I can't get much calcium from my diet because I can't stand milk or yogurt at all. I do eat a fairly healthy diet though still working on it.

I’m 65 and never been ill or fallen before and yet was diagnosed with osteoporosis in spine, osteopenia in neck and hip and 4 compression spinal fractures 3 months ago after I requested a DECTA scan due to back pain and osteoporosis being in the family.

As someone with osteopenia, I have difficulty sleeping due to bone pain at night. Looking to buy a mattress that may ease the pain & help me sleep, but have no idea what to look for. Does anyone have any suggestions?
