Fibromyalgia and health problems
Raynauds syndrome, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis in my thumb joints and knees, and
osteopenia
in my hips (forerunner of osteoporosis). I was wondering if anyone has tried a specific diet such as vegetarian or vegan or avoiding anything in particular. I’m quite healthy despite my problems.

Anyone else diagnosed with PBC and
osteopenia
? What are you taking? I saw somewhere that it was important to include Vitamin K2 in addition to calcium and Vitamin D3 to direct them to the bones and not your arteries.

I also have
osteopenia
and am being referred to rheumatology. I think the underactive thyroid may be the underlying cause of the other issues so I really want to try and get it stabilised within the normal range. Thanks, I look forward to hearing any suggestions, Louise

One of the lucky ones
Having been on Lupron for so long I have other side effect issues as everyone knows and also
osteopenia
\osteoporosis and have know been taken off Lupron for a holiday. That being said, I still feel lucky because the original prognosis from the urologist was pretty bad.

Diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 32 - anyone else in similar situation?
I have osteoporosis in spine and
osteopenia
in my hips. I know it's relatively unusual to have it at my age, but it is also an effect of chronic anorexia so my diagnosis didn't really surprise me.

You may hear this called
osteopenia
.
is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as 10% to 25% below an average healthy 30 year old adult, or a T-score between –1.0 and –2.5 standard deviations below normal.

Back from the Mayo Clinic
Also, it turns out I have
Osteopenia
because of the supposed PBC. So now I’m on Vitamin D and Calcium. I’ve seen some posts recently about alcohol and the doctors I’ve talked to said drinking in moderation is fine (just don’t become and alcoholic and have weekly benders).

Low dose naltrexone for pain
I am 55 just diagnosed, have
osteopenia
L3&4 and reduced bone density elsewhere. I am due to see physio at St John and St Elizabeth's hospital but I am in so much pain. The magnesium oil isn't helping and at the moment rest is not an option until next week.

REF: ' If you won't take methotrexate there's no point in you coming back.... '
I'd had a dexa scan in Jan - some
osteopenia
but no osteoporosis yet. Not too bad. After considering all available info, I decided not to have these extra treatments so soon, but to focus on reducing pred as best I could. This I've been managing reasonably well - now down to 9 - 8.5.

Lifestyle suggestion for Osteoporosis
There have been many many studies showing the incredible effect that physical exercise has on reversing bone diseases, especially osteoporosis and
osteopenia
. I know this may sound unrealistic to many in fear of their bones breaking but even little is enough.

Who'd of thunk it?
I had tested as having
osteopenia
in 2013 and been put on Prolia. This time, the scan showed no issues with bone density at all. I was very surprised, as was the staff. They also ordered a CT / Pet scan with NaF (sodium fluoride).
