Adding to heart problems??
Had a bone density test that came back as diffuse
osteopenia
. MO then added 1200 mg calcium to the D3 i have been taking. My concern is that a CT scan revealed numerous calcifications in the coronary arteries. Will taking 1200mg of calcium make that worse? I already have 6 stents.

Test Results....need help before I lose my mind
Why does my TSH hardly move UP (endos goal is to raise my TSH) because of
osteopenia
(mild) and my FT4 keeps dropping? Endo DID NOT order FT3 like every other time (she and idiot).

Males with osteoporosis?
Diagnosed with idiopathic osteoporosis - and
osteopenia
in some extremities - in my mid 40's. Condition recognized (by physicians) after decades of running yet only my second stress fracture. Curious if any other males are on this forum in a similar situation? Appreciating your input and time.

WHY THE RUSH TO TAPER STEROIDS TOO FAST AND TOO MUCH, ESPECIALLY IN THE OLDER POPULATION GROUP??
My last DEXA scan at age 69 done via FRAX = mild
osteopenia
with 0% fracture in the next 10 years. Why do I need to taper at all when I was virtually pain free on 16 mg? I am 71 now. It seems doctors are desperate to taper patients from steroids too fast for fear of harming bones??

Having a "TURN"
Luckily so far side effects have been minimal - weight stable (slightly overweight) and my only other significant issue is very low grade - so far (due for my next scan soon)
osteopenia
- 'just' in that category.

Personal Hygiene.
I have end stage COPD and
Osteopenia
. I struggle to wash myself. What can I do to access help in the UK for this. I get Attendance Allowance, but my partner does so much cleaning cooking etc I am reluctant to ask him to help.

ADT and hip replacement
Also, even though my recent bone density scan showed that I have
osteopenia
rather than osteoporosis, I wonder what impact ADT has on teeth as mine seem to have become more brittle.

Treatment of Skin Damage
A GP referral to an orthopaedic surgeon resulted in a recent Dexascan which revealed some osteoporosis and
osteopenia
but not serious when compared to persons in a similar age group, however the spinal damage has left the neck susceptible to serious consequence should further falls occur.

My experience with PMR and Fibro
My bone density tests were good, leaning toward
osteopenia
. Then out of the blue this happens. I have been on the pred. for 1 year and 6 &1/2 months. My dose was down to 6mg before this happened. The pmr flare was the worst and pred had to go back to 20 mg. Now down to 8mg.

Teeth and alendronic acid?
I have
osteopenia
since taking steroids and I've not been taking AA as they upset my stomach and I felt I'd had enough meds to cope with. Now I'm nervous about the effect on my bones (or what's left of them) but am soon to have 3 teeth out.

Helping My Family
On steroids, montelukast, stronger inhalers, nebulisers (2 drugs), and a drug to stop the
osteopenia
developing in to osteoporosis (side effect of steroid). The
osteopenia
diagnosis has freaked me out and I have tried to reduce the steroids this week. Several times I should have gone to hospital.

thrusting me into a menopausal state after my miracle baby, I've spent the last 12yrs battling fatigue, hormone imbalance (which dr's deny despite the clear genova diagnostics test explaining about my crashing oestradiol levels) panic attacks (which have trailed off), anxiety (which has not trailed off),

Coeliac and osteopenia
He had a dexa scan last November and his GP has managed to finally get the results from the hospital which indicate that he has
osteopenia
, his GP says he has a low risk of fracture due to his age (21) and that he does not require any medication at present.

May is Coeliac awareness month in the US and Canada,
So many coeliac suffer from
osteopenia
and worse osteoporosis and other auto-immune disorders. Processed gluten free foods/free from foods aren't necessarily healthy as the name free from implies and the free from aisles are packed with high fat/sugary foods with lots of additives.

Bone loss from thyroid meds Levothyroxine.
They are not delving into the number of individuals who have
osteopenia
or osteoporosis because of the drug. I suspect as the population ages and given the popularity of the drug, the evidence will speak for itself.
