I was wondering what others take when they are diagnosed with Osteopenia or Osteoporosis. I don't want to take the Fosamax or anything similar. I have issues with my stomach. Are there any natural supplements that have been shown to help?

Hi Feliciaw,
I take Vitamin D prescribed by my doctor, get calcium via my diet, (discussed and agreed with my doctor), K2, magnesium glycinate and boron.
I tried drinking kefir but it does not appear to agree with me (stomach issues) even if I take a very small amount daily so I do not take it all the time and am wondering if I should just forget about it.
Prunes appear to be the thing to eat to help the bones. Six per day.
Daily weight-bearing exercises is important too but you know that, I am sure.
I have not heard about prunes. I already take vitamin D. I will look into that. I was taking Osteo Mins. They are pricey and the PM dose is 8 capsules. It does, however, have the vitamins and minerals you mentioned. I may stick with it. Thank you, Kaarina
Minerals magnesium, boron, & vitamins K2 & D3 are essential to ensure calcium ends up in the bones, rather than arteries. I take supplements for magnesium & D3, & eat kefir for K2 & nuts for boron.
