Apixaban v. Edoxaban which is best for stroke prevention
I’ve just been asked by my GP to switch from Apixaban to Edoxaban. Apparently my local commissioning group have negotiated better terms for this drug which would save about £200 pa for each patient switched. Anyone got any experience with Edoxaban? I have been happily on Apixaban for about 5 years now

A letter of introduction to my little friend.
Hi, my name is MS and I'm an invisible chronic illness. I am now velcroed to you for life. Others around you can't see me or hear me, but YOUR body feels me. I can attack you anywhere and anyhow I please. I can cause severe pain, or, if I'm in a good mood, I can just cause you to ache all over. Remember

Update on kidney function.
Just to let you know that I saw GP and voiced my concerns ree EGfr he compared with previous results and said it had bee 41 two years ago so as the recent one was 43 there had in fact been an improvement although not normal was really unconcerned. He did not agree with me when I said kidney function

SVT then atrial fibrillation
I am 70 years ol and very fit. I have only had one attack of SVT and was told it was nothing to worry about and put on bisoprolol. 7 years later I had one attack of atrial fibrillation which brought on a silent heart attack. This was a year ago, now armed with many tablets to take every day,I have asked

Tens machine
Hi Like many (I suppose most of you) I am experiencing awful pain in my feet, knees, one shoulder and my hands. After 3 years I have just been told I have been granted the funding for benepali injections. I just wondered if anyone has tried using a tens machine to ease the pain? Wishing you all some

Kardia Report
Hi, may I ask a question regarding a Kardia report? I have previously been diagnosed with SVT and given Bisoprolol, which I have only used as PIP. I do get ectopics, but the last year or so they have felt worse. I bought a Kardia last week and most of the ecg's have been unclassified, but as each time

It seems I'm a fraud ! I don't have AF after all and my ICD is on hold
I have an ECG response that is apparently unusual and is of great interest to the cardiologists I have seen. AF has been mentioned by several of them but they haven't sounded too convincing. I saw my EP yesterday and asked him. Although he thought he had seen attributes identifying AF, he now describes

Dysautonomia and hypothyroidism
So a few years ago (like 6,7) I had a tilt table test; I was collapsing etc and then it went away. Until about 2 years ago, once again I'm collapsing (or near abouts, since I can stop it), my blood pressure and heart rate mess around and I've found out I'm hypothyroid. I have episodes of tachycardia,

TENS for Overactive Bladder
Hi, My 5 year old daughter has been struggling with daytime wetness for sometime now. It seems we have tried everything to improve her symptoms - timed voiding, increased fluids, reward charts!! Etc etc. She can wet up to 4 times a day and sometimes has no idea that she has wet. We have seen a consultant

Medication and Heart Rate
Does everyone experience this? With my Afib I take metoprolol taurtrate. My heart rates goes from the 50’s to 80’s low 90’s in the same day. I take 75mg 2 x’s daily. Is it normal for heart rate to be up and down? I am 4 months post abliation. It seems to have gotten like this over the last three

Still suffering
I've had a ganglion Impar block, a caudal epideural steroid injection with x-ray and a flourosopic pudendal
nerve
block
. I had to cancel a bi-lateral pulse radiofrequency pudendal block which was scheduled. My problem is because I switched insurance to a PPO the doctor is out of network for me now.

Undiagnosed nerve pain
The only medication that seems to work a little is Oxycontin and
nerve
block
with local anesthesia. The symptoms are always worse in the evenings. And slowly getting worse overall. It's a total inferno of unpleasant sensations in my feet 24-7, and this makes me really panicky and suicidal at times.

Where do you stick tens machine pads for endo pain?
Having had some pretty severe endo pain recently, I'm thinking about buying a tens machine. I'm confused however where you're supposed to - or is safe to - stick the pads? My main pain is on my left side towards my hip but I don't think you can stick the pads near the womb area, is that correct? Any

Viral meningitis
I have just been discharged from hospital following a diagnosis of viral meningitis. My husband remains in hospital and is very poorly. I suspect that we have the same virus but cannot understand why he isn’t responding to treatment. He seems to be getting worse. Doctors are at a loss and are running

More control
I have some days clear of fits. Other days I have several slumps, or occasional tonic clonic fits caused by bright light, loud noise or more emotion, both good and bad, roughly 25 times each month. An epilepsy specialist suggested I take more vitamin D after having a blood test. I may notice a trigger

Pudendal nerve damage following insertion of Atoms Sling
The chronic pain clinic is going to do a
nerve
block
. But the cause will still remain. Could anyone tell us what are our options regarding finding a professional who will try to fix this, not lay a layer of drugs over it.
