Where do you stick tens machine pads for endo pain?

Having had some pretty severe endo pain recently, I'm thinking about buying a tens machine. I'm confused however where you're supposed to - or is safe to - stick the pads? My main pain is on my left side towards my hip but I don't think you can stick the pads near the womb area, is that correct? Any advice welcome!

Hi there,

So my mum is a physio so I’ve used tens machines for a while and they do really help! You can stick the pads directly where it hurts, that’s the joy of them! You want to kind of build up though as it does stimulate blood flow and muscle contraction which is why you get the pain relief so don’t ramp it up full blast the first time you get it!

If you’re in the U.K. I would try and get one from a women’s health physio, your gynaecologist or GP- you shouldn’t be spending ridiculous amounts on them either- there are ones that have been cleverly marketed to target period pains and they are literally just colourful machines.

I’ll double check how much you should be looking to spend and the best brands and get back to you 😊 I also haven’t ever heard the womb caution so I’ll ask about that too- hope some of my rambles made sense! x

Thank you :-) Having been searching for a couple of hours, I spotted the one for well over a £100 specifically for period/endo pain but read reviews on here that they're pretty rubbish. Was looking at spending about £20 - £30 max. I think whatever I do buy will be Amazon, so if it doesn't work I can at least send it back!

Bargain! Do you find it helps you at all? And do you stick the pads directly where you feel the pain? X

It helps a bit but not much for me personally but anything that reduces the pain I'm willing to take and I stick them just above my bits tbh cos that's where the pain is I said that is what I would be using for in the pharmacy and they said it was fine
