Small hernia
I have Stage 3 low grade ovarian cancer and had debulking surgery 18 months ago. I got over the surgery very quickly and have been very lucky with no recurrence so far. Yesterday I saw my Oncologist who said she had found a small hernia but I should carry on as normal but avoid heavy lifting. I’m

cataract surgery and prednisolone dose
This morning I had my eyes tested. This time last year I was told I had the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye, due to prednisolone. Today I was told that, thanks to prednisolone, the cataract is now ready for surgery. I said I didn't want it yet, because I am trying to get my prednisolone dose

Bevacizumab v Niraparib
I've had chemo/debulking surgery/ chemo, and have just come to the end of the post surgery chemo. I've been told all along that I will continue with Bevacizumab as a maintenance treatment (I've had 3 rounds of it alongside chemo, 2 before the surgery and 1 after). I caught COVID towards the end of

a question for endo sufferers
Apologies in advance for the ramble and I’m not sure if anyone will have any answers, but I’ve been frantically googling and not getting very far. I have endo and a <2cm Endometrioma. I’ve had 2 failed transfers and am planning an FET for April/May next year providing our blasts come back from pgta

Back MRI Showed Pelvic Mass
Hello all! I am new here, so this is my first post. I had a back MRI in September 2023 in preparation for possible back surgery. The results of the MRI showed a pelvic mass in the area of left ovary. I took this information to my Gyn, who referred me to a GynOnc because of my age (65), the results

Bowel or endometrioma pain?
Hi I'm hoping someone can shed a bit of light on my pain. I have endo in lots of places in POD on ligaments and my bowel.I also have a 5cm endometrioma. I am down for surgery for hysterectomy as I have adenomyosis and endo extraction. I've opted out of a bowel resection as the waiting list is longer

Hi there. I live in Brighton and I recently had open heart surgery (at The Royal Brompton in London) Does anyone know of any support groups for people who have been through similar surgery. I am in my 40s but would love to have people to chat to of any age who have been through the same thing. Thank

14 year old son with tight foreskin, will he need surgery
My son recently told his dad that his foreskin doesn't retract. I think he was to embarrassed to talk to me. Took him to the doctors and was told to apply steroid cream and was told try gentle stretching. Went back a month later, and although the foreskin is less tight and now retracting it's not fully

Post surgery
Hello. I am 3 weeks after open heart surgery to repair my mitral valve. I am still wearing compression socks but for the last 3 days one of my ankles has been swallen. Is this normal weeks after surgery? Getting a GP appointment is almost impossible so wanted to know if anyone else experienced this.

When should chemo restart post interval debulking surgery?
Hello ladies I am almost 5 weeks post surgery now and my consultant is happy to restart me on chemo now. Just wondered what experiences others have had in terms of coping with the ongoing recovery & chemo side effects. Thank you 🤗

how do I wash my hair?
silly question I know but I’m due to have open heart surgery very soon. I’m a 38 year old woman with long, blonde, curly hair. Can anybody give me some advice on how you washed your hair post surgery? I have a good support network so can get help if needs be. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Epilepsy resulting from surgery to temporal lobe
Tests revealed unknown type of brain tumours - gliomas or cysts . Surgery in 1989 showed they were benign epidermoid cysts which were removed. However, the craniotomy triggered epilepsy.... infrequent daytime absences and regular nocturnal seizures. Absences were quickly controlled with AED medication
