So today we had to bring our 7 year old beautiful Maine Coon Bella to the vet because we thought she was having dental problems. We were told that it looks like oral cancer and we want to see a specialist as soon as possible and they would need to take half of her jaw out at least and I'm so torn whether or not to put her through that surgery what will her quality of life be like afterwards and that's what the specialist is there to tell us. My husband and I are absolutely heartbroken over this news and are so torn on whether or not to allow her to go through the surgery or not. In addition to that I was all excited about a new job that I was about to get at a non-profit that was going to pay me a substantial raise for my long experience history working with children and unfortunately because of one mistake that I made a year and a half ago it's come back to haunt me and it looks like I'm not going to be able to take that position after all and it makes me so disheartened because it's almost like I'm set up to fail over here it's just a tough day for me thanks for letting me vent.

Hi Cookie,You should never feel the need to apologise for your post.
Part of what we do is put our listening ears on, to hear or should I say read about trials and issues of people and to support them with care and support if it's needed.
Sending you 💓 and 🫂 as you work out what to do for your much loved 🐈.

Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding and you're right I should apologize for the way that I feel because it sucks. On a happier note that you have to stop belling and has begun eating again and cleaning herself again somewhat so we are opting knots to have the surgery where her jaw is removed because how would she be able to eat and drink after something like that and what would the quality of her life be like. We just don't feel that we should put her through all that just to possibly gain a few more months if you know what I mean. As long as she's happy and content and eating and drinking like she is now we're just going to let things lie for now and if things go back to the way that they were or get worse will bring her back to the vet then and decided not to do next but we're definitely not going to do jar removal surgery that's too invasive.
