I have for the last 4-6 months really struggled with joint pain to the extent that I was in tears. I’ve just read that one of the rare side effects of Levo is: limp or walk favoring one leg pain in the hip or knee I have both, been drs numerous times had bloods for RA, bone

I have not been well for 6 weeks now after having been really well for quite few months. I have been on steroids that didn't work and have been checked out at hospital. Hospital consultant changed me from lansoprazole to omeprazole as acid reflux is a problem. When I was first ill the asthma nurse changed

Acid reflux/GORD, Asthma - Slippery Elm Bark
My asthma is made worse by acid reflux. I take omeprazole but have heard that slippery elm bark powder is good for acid reflux as it can coat the oesophagus and may prevent irritation and inflammation. I am seeing my consultant this month so will ask him. Has anyone used it?

Blood test results for my Mom. Please may I ask for help reviewing them given her suspected heart attack some weeks back. Thankyou.
May I ask the expertly knowledgeable folk on this site to please assess my mothers recent blood tests results - post a suspected heart attack. We are in a very difficult situation. Our GP practice is deteriorating at a rate of knots! They are drastically short of doctors. The practice has quietly amalgamated

Weight loss and medication
I am feeling at a loss as to what to do. I need to lose weight for an operation on my knee, besides I would like to because of the pressure on my knees. I did the 5:2 diet and the 800 cal diet for 12 wks and lost not one single kg. I blame this on my medication. I take Gabapentin, co-codamal, ranitidine

Worst 10 weeks of pain since taking levothyroxine
Hello all, I was wondering if someone could help me, I feel like I'm going mad. I stayed levothyroxine roughly 11 weeks ago, could it be a coincidence that I have so much pain, even when I'm lying in bed. From my neck, jaw, hands, wrists, knee, ankle and feet, I can barely walk in a morning and to get

Hi everyone, in my search to find something that will alleviate my gastric discomfort, I found an article that says Omeprazole shouldn't be used by people with Lupus. Can a anyone comment on this?

Medication
I know we all have to take medication to help us but what is it doing to our bodies , myself I think it brought on ulcerative colitis as I had just started bleeding after starting naproxen a inflammatory drug, we can't be 100 per cent but we would try anything if we were told it could help you but it

New and currently undiagnosed
Hi as title says im new here and currently undiagnosed. Looking for some advice please. I visited doctor last Thursday with what I thought were symptoms of IBS bloating, wind and really bad diarrhoea with some blood/mucus. I’ve been suffering with this for a while and had been taking Buscopan an Imodium

Advice requested
Hi 👋 Sorry for long post... I’ve had bilateral swelling and stiffness in feet, ankles, knees, shoulders, wrists and hands for a while now but seems to have worsened over past 12 months or so. GP has recently done bloods - Rheumatoid factor was 10 (range <15) so I’m guessing this rules out RA? My ESR

Gallbladder/Gallstone/Echotexture around liver and left side pain
I was diagnosed of gallstones 2 years ago after I was sent for an ultrasound due to my long term abdominal pain. I saw a consultant who advised that I remove my gallbladder, I got a date but due to academic commitments I couldn't go ahead with the surgery and as at then I seldom get attacks other than

How much ranitidine is equivalent to omeprazole?
Hey all, I realise this may well be subjective but I was wondering how much shelf bought ranitidine would be equivalent to 20mg omeprazole? I only ask as I'm currently subbing with ranitidine while awaiting my omeprazole prescription. I took 75mg yesterday but felt very off and bloated in the evening

Will I lose my fitness completely?!
Feeling thoroughly fed up, I’ve got tendinitis in my ankle!! Really missing running, and scared I’ll lose my fitness! Not helped by being an asthmatic that despite knowing they will upset my breathing slightly has resorted to naproxen to ease the pain as I’ve been told not to run or even walk long distances

PPI and Diabetes Drugs
Hi, I put most of this info in recent replies on forum but thought might be of interest to others. Curious to know if any long term users of these drugs had regular testing of B12 levels in the past. NHS link omeprazole https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/omeprazole/ See section 9 Common Questions about Omeprazole
