Post lumbar microdiscectomy surgery/recovery
I had an endoscopic microdiscectomy on my L5/S1 on 21st June 2019 after suffering agonising/debilitating pain from March 2019 (the surgery was only fast-tracked due to private medical insurance). I was advised the usual, to not bend, twist or lift anything heavier than 2lbs in the first 6 weeks. Not

Guys, asking for advice once more!
I have been suffering quite bad neck muscle pain for about 2 weeks, independent from PMR I think. Then on Friday night I experienced the worst pain ever, anywhere, in my right hand side chest muscles ( intercostal) and shoulder. So severe I could hardly breathe, or lie down. My H wanted to call 999,

Help needed please. Diagnosed with PMR three weeks ago. Put on 20mg of Pred each morning after food intake. Joined this website & reading through various experiences with dosage, decided to take 5mg @ 6pm as I found, I couldn’t function properly when I awoke each morning & definitely couldn’t wait

Lack of knowledge.
Went to see my excellent GP yesterday following a fall at home wich I thought might have damaged my wrist. She agree and sent me to our local urgent care unit for an Xray as she would get the result quicker that way. Saw a Dr there who asked a few questions I told him I had recently been diagnosed with

Long term PPI use
Does anyone use PPI medication and have you been on it for a long time? I've been on various doses of Omeprazole for years on and off but after a bad flare last year GP doubled the dose to 40mg twice a day and I've been on it ever since. My symptoms are well controlled and have been for 6 months so

Unsuccessful pain management
Hi everyone, Last night I ended up being taken into my local A + E by ambulance after ringing 111. I’m on the second day of my cycle and have been having my usual symptoms; sickness, headaches, fainting, diarrhoea and feeling extremely fatigued. The pain this month is the worst it’s been, it just seems

Horrible acid reflux IBS-related or rebound effect from short term PPI-use?
I wrote a post here earlier about possible IBS-related stomach problems. I didn't mention it in the original post, but these problems started about a month before a trip abroad that I had planned for very long. Just a few days before the departure I was considering cancelling, but my house doctor told

GERD and nausea
Hi! I am a 44 years old female. I have had severe heartburn for the last 4 months and occasional nausea, that I attributed to GERD. I underwent gastroscopy that showed mild gastritis and esophagitis. I also have Candida in my bowel. I took esomeprazole for GERD at first, but it caused me psychological
