Advice needed and a bit of a moan...
Due to other problems my Practise Nurse sent me for a scan last year during which it showed that I have a fatty liver. I have asked for tests (as suggested by BLF Nurse)but these were turned down by the GP who said if anything gets worse it will show in the annual blood tests. I would change GP but there

Statin Saga Continues
Tempted to give it a few days off to see if
muscle
/joint
pain
eases and perhaps go back on to atorvastatin as was nowhere near as bad. Flipping drugs, I know I need them.. it's just getting the blend/dosage right.

Doctor refusing to increase levo, says I should not have been put on it in the first place (it was "against his better judgement")
Bone tiredness, itchy arms and nerve/joint/
muscle
pain
, lack of concentration and just so much fatigue. The GP's response to my request to increase the medication was ridiculous.

Sciatica
I’ve had PMR for 18 months and had got down to 8mg. Pain in one hip and assumed it was a spike so went back to 12mg as advised by doctor. However symptoms still there after 3 weeks and appear to be sciatica. As only in one hip. Very painful and no painkiller helps . Could this be PMR but only in

Gabapentin
Hello I've previously had excellent advice thank you. I have now completely come off the nupro patch wasn't nice coming off the last quarter but I did it. I was taking gabapentin at the same time and after withdrawal from DA symptoms settled I was left with breakthrough from the gabapentin at bedtime

Hand muscle loss and pain
Have GCAPMR and paroxysmal AFib. Down to 5.5mg pred and taking Atenolol beta blocker. 7 weeks ago I had what felt like signs of Carpal tunnel syndrome and Rheum nurse support team suggested on phone that's what it probably was, suggested upping the pred. I upped it to 8 for 4 days then came back to 5.5

Back again!
Hi all. I wrote , previously and thank you to everybody who replied. I have had about 3 week's of Tramadol 50 mg and they have done nothing much for the pain so my Dr. told me to stop them and he has prescribed PreGablin. Question please! Can I just stop taking Tramadol after 3 week's and not have withdrawal

Song and Dance ?
I was thinking of the best way to celebrate my eight month anniversary since my WMM (Wolf Mini Maze) in Tokyo by Dr Ohtsuka at the NewHeart Watanabe Hospital. I am still in NSR (normal sinus rhythm) and my divorce from AFib is finalised. As our friend Jim knows, I went a little mad (as you do) when

Taking ibuprofen while on a low dose of prednisolone
Hi I’ve already had one hip replaced 13 years ago (before my PMR diagnosis) and I’ve been lucky to get away with not having any trouble with the other - until recently. It’s deteriorating rapidly, and I’m on first steps of the “pathway” to have surgery, which I know will likely take years. The best

Making a Comeback
Hello fellow runners :) It’s been a while since I’ve posted on the forum, or actively checked in to see where people are at. Back in April I pinched some nerves in my neck and was on painkillers for weeks on end. I had been so disappointed as I’d worked my way up to running 8k and was devastated to

pain killers
Hi , I’m on Edoxaban 60 mg daily for stroke risk after 2 ablations . I’ve just pulled my back lifting a heavy box and although I’m not incapacitated I’m getting a lot of pain bending so trying to rest but with three young dogs to exercise I need to be active . I’m visiting my GP next week to discuss

Painless Death Insurance
I must admit that, despite all of the optimism and wishful thinking about Parkinson's research, I have periods of utter dread in which I fear that when I reach the most unbearably painful stages of the disease, I won't have a way out. I'd very much like to have the equivalent of a "magic pill"

Total mess
I've had the worst year ever I've have PBC with an overlsp of AIH since diagnosed in 2015 I am supposed to be getting a thoracic spine operation but can't get cleared because my blood keeps coming high on the APTT & PT which means I can't clot and if I can clot I can't have the surgery. My liver enzymes

FT4 18.1 (12-22) FT3 5 (4-6.8) At the moment ive been fluctuating between feeling pretty good and not too not great, generally an okay space but defo space to improve. my main symptom is
muscle
pain
and slow recovery, my interpretation is that the thyroid hormone is just not getting in there fast

PMR taper again!
I am feeling fine, no
muscle
aches or
pain
and no fatigue. If some of you think it is best to drop 1/4mg to 73/4mg, i could do that also. As long as I am not having any symptoms I'll continue on this taper until I encounter some resistance from PMR.
