Ferritin Level
For anyone on iron tablets to raise the ferritin level, you need to take your iron tablets last thing at night on an empty stomach but also don't drink tea or coffee for at least one hour before. I only found out from my GP when my ferritin level fell even after increasing the iron tablets. My GP recommends

Anyone have experience with supplementing iron?
So in conjunction with my thyroid I also had low ferritin. Before I started taking thyroid hormone my ferritin was bottomed out 17 (30-300) and I’m a male by the way. so this is not normal (not bleeding from anywhere). For a while I supplemented iron but it actually brought my ferritin down. The only

Does anyone NOT have a conversion issue, but still have low FT3??
Hi All: Has anyone experienced "in range" FT4 and low FT3, without a high rT3, aka conversion issue? I'm trying to develop my argument to ask my doc to try me on t3 only. I'm having conversion issues, most likely related to the low iron and or adrenals. He won't give me IV iron, though I seriously need

Blood results
Hi all, my first post from the UK. Recently I've been more fatigued/shaky/weak to the point of not making work and needing >12 hrs sleep to function. The doc said to take it easy for a while which isn't helping. After pushing the doc for further investigations, a stool sample was taken and bloods. The

Iron blood test advice
Hi all, I've ordered an iron status check as I have low ferritin levels but want to be sure that the rest of my iron levels are also low. It will look at transferrin, ferritin, serum iron and the ratios. I'd like some advice on whether I should stop supplementing iron before I do it and also whether

Anaemia confusion
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me to understand this whole anaemia business because I am deeply confused! I had the FBC done a few months ago, and the GP called me and told me that I was not anaemic but my red blood cells were slightly enlarged so they were going to test B12 and folate. Subsequently
