Further Advise please on low iron symptoms
GP says iron ferritin (from blood test) is low (I had a 32 days bleed from a colcoscopy procedure on my cervix to remove abnormal cells that made me have like a very heavy period for so long and also had an infection from the procedure, finally the bleeding stopped just over a week ago) my iron ferritin

It's small but at least an increase not a decrease as before. The dr at blue horizons thought my low/insufficient

After 26 years, bloods are still a puzzle?
Here is a blood test from yesterday. I've been from T4 only, for 25 years, to T3 only, for 3weeks, to, now, 50 mcg of T4 and 30 mcg of T3. I began having problems six months ago with Levo while I was removing all traces of processed sugar from my diet. I had been on .88 mcg of Levo for 25 years and

An understanding GP
I was first diagnosed with high THS two & a half years ago, I was prescribed 25 mg, after 12 months a blood test showed the THS had dropped, but I had anaemia, something I have never had. I had a gastroscopy and endoscopy, neither revealed a problem. As I had read that reducing THS (or a low one) could

Levothyroxine sodium anhydrous
Over the years we have seen several discussions around the issue of some manufacturers stating "Levothyroxine sodium" and others "Levothyroxine sodium anhydrous" . Just noticed that the current British National Formulary gives the active ingredient in every listed levothyroxine product, including liquids

Levothyroxine and Iron Supplements
I've just bought some iron supplements in the hope it might boost my energy levels but I've read online they can interfere with levothyroxine. Could anyone give me some advice on whether it's safe to take them? I take my levo in the morning so could I take the iron in the evenings?

Unexplained Upper Gastrointestinal bleeding Omeprazole
Had 2 episodes of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (Meleana). One 2015 and the other June 2018. Resulted in iron deficiency anaemia and recent one rapid onset and collapse with emergency admission to A and E. Had all usual tests of camera down throat; capsule endoscopy and colonoscopy with no culprit

Anyone else having to battle each time they need an iron infusion?
I’ve had PA since I was a teenager, although it took them years to identify it and I was 23 by the time I received my first loading doses. The main reason they missed the PA was due to an ongoing iron anaemia which was disguising the cell shapes on blood tests. The B12 was treated but the iron issue

Gastritis leading to anaemia
I have just had a gastroscopy and have gastritis and duodenitis, they now want to do a colonoscopy because I have low trasnsferrin (10) and haemaglobin levels of 110 which is a bit below the normal so I am anaemic. Has anyone else been down this path? I know I have gastritis because that is how I have

What relevance have MCH, MCV, MCHC results have in possible B12 deficiency ?
I had some FBC tests done recently and the above plus Serum alkaline phosphatase were considered 'abnormal'. No treatment but combined with a low B12 serum test I wondered if there was a connection? Since then taking 1000mcg cyanacobalim pills plus 1200ug B12 spray hoping this will help. Better add

Do my lab results look normal?
I've just got my lab results back from my full blood count and B12 test and am wondering whether they look normal? They appear to fall within the normal ranges although my RBCs and haematocrit are on the lower end of the scale and my MCV and MCH are on the high end of the scales. I have an appointment
