Hi, I Had the Mirena fitted back on 1st march, I'm currently havin my first period since it is fitted, the reason I had it fitted was because of the pain it causes in my back. I understand it may take a few months, but the pain feels worse at times... in my lower back and lower abdomen... and period

Thoughts on hysterectomy??
I've recently been diagnosed with endometriosis on uterus, pouch of Douglas, bowel, bladder and right ovary and tube, as well as adenomyosis following ex lap and excision of the endo and adhesions. My consultant has suggested a hysterectomy. Now I'm not totally averse to it, I've had my babies and am

Having awful time with Mirena
I wonder if any other ladies here have had similar experiences. I feel like I'm losing my mind since I've had my Mirena. It's not agreeing with me and I've had constant bleeding and spotting since it was inserted 7 months ago. I'm also feeling really anxious, upset and irritable. I feel like I'm not

Sex after excision surgery
Hi ladies, I had excision surgery on 27 February, almost 5 weeks ago and have been healing steadily since. I have been in quite a lot of pain still so have not tried to do anything. Last night me and my husband tried to be intimate for the first time since my operation and I was in so much pain/discomfort

No endo found, what happens now?
I had my laparoscopy today and they found no endo. The found a polyp and removed that and inserted a mirena coil. Has anyone had the same? What will happen now?

Mirena and endometriosis
Hi All, I am wondering whether the Mirena coil is only used for treat the endometriosis pain or whether it also prevents the endometriosis growth (new/old lesions). Does anyone know?

Hello, sorry if this is in the wrong place but I need some advice. I'm 24, no children, and I had the Mirena Coil fitted about 2 weeks ago. In pain and feeling tired
I have always had problems with my periods since I started at 13 yrs old. I am now 52yrs old and we did not manage to have children. 12 years ago I had the mirena coil fitted because I was having heavy periods and they found a fibroid. I have had 4 coils fitted since then. 18 months ago I started

Lonely
I'm on day 8 after having my 2nd laparoscopy. Still bed bound as the cramps are almost constant; the pain is close to the worst period pains I've ever had, like mini contractions. Although, apart from today which has been a setback, they seem to be improving a little every day. I'm on Tramadol, together

Mirena Coil Moved?! After Surgery Help
Hello, I just came out of hospital yesterday after having an extensive laparoscopy on my bowel, but during the surgery I had a Mirena Coil fitted to then help with the general pain afterwards. Obviously I am very sore as I have 6 wounds in my stomach, but today I have been getting a sharp / scratchy

Diagnostic lap yesterday
Hi! Well I finally had my Lap yesterday, was terrified beforehand, but actually not half as bad as I was expecting. He said he didn't find any endo but found and drained a 2 cm simple cyst & also fitted a mirena coil. Does this mean then I definitely don't have endo? I hear that cysts just fill up again

Endometriosis & the marina coil
Hi 👋 I'm forever reading posts but never posted myself. I was diagnosed with endometriosis around 4 months ago, having suffering with it for years. I was advised that the best form of "treatment" was to have the marina coil fitted, as this was the best thing for it. I already had the copper coil

Heavy Bleeding with Mirena Coil and Prostap Injection, what gives?
Hi, just thought I would sign up. Feeling lost really. I have suffered from heavy periods which worsened as I have got older. After meds to reduce bleeding didn't work, my GP suggested to have a Mirena coil fitted, it was too painful so the procedure was abandoned to I was booked in for a hysteroscopy

Scared about Laparoscopy on Friday 31st.
I am scared about having a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy as well as maybe putting a mirena coil in. Has anyone else had the same done? I am also petrified that i will wake up after the op to be told that they've found nothing. What will be the next step and what if they tell me that all of the pain was
