Mirena coil for heavy bleeding
Hey all, what are people's experiences of the mirena coil? I suffer really bad with extremely heavy unpredictable periods and severe ovulation pain. My GP has suggested the Mirena Coil. Has it lightened your periods? Has it stopped ovulation?

Has anyone had endo come back with the mirena coil?
I had my first laproscopy 2 years ago and I'm now on the mirena coil and have been for 8 months but I'm still in extreme pain and have been ever since I had it put in. The doctor has advised me to stick with it as it helps stop it coming back but has anyone else been in this situation where their endo

Feeling down in the dumps - Mirena coil & tooth problems
So I had the Mirena fitted during my 2nd lap which was in November to remove stage 4 endo, and for the past 6 weeks I have been bleeding constantly (not 1 day break) - it's more than spotting and I need to change tampons/pads like I would with a normal period. I'm taking iron tablets and extra supplements

HRT or not to HRT that is the question
After D&C and Mirena coil fitted then after a year of even heavier periods and excruciating pain, another op to remove the coil and an Endometrial ablation, that was nine months ago. I only get very slight bleeding, but I am in constant pain all around the abdomen, back and pelvis, I have never felt

Mirena IUD not working, stick with it or try something else?
Hi everyone, I'm new here so I just wanted a bit of advice on different types of treatment. My story: (apologies it's a bit long) I was diagnosed with endometriosis in February 2016. Since I was 18 I had awful periods and pelvic pain even though I was on the pill but I felt it was more than just period

Out of options? Endo and Mirena
Hi all! In May 2017 I had a laparoscopy to diagnose and treat endo and a mirena coil fitted. Before having my surgery I was put on every form of hormonal birth control possible with the same out come - severe depression. It was suggested I tried the coil as it has a smaller amount of hormones and it

One for the ladies ..MIRENA coil.
Hello ladies Anyone on here had experience with MIRENA coil. I had one fitted last month and I've not quite felt right since. Not sure if it's just a flair up and i waa due one or if it's the hormones in the coil causing havoc with my body and it's triggering it. I've had a good 6 month stint until

Constant exhaustion, headaches and colds
Title basically sums it up really. I can't even pinpoint when these all started but for at least the last year and a half I've noticed this. Been on Cerazette since July and was on Milinette before that, neither seems to have made it worse or better (but cerazette has caused horrific mouth ulcers).

Should I keep the Mirena coil or remove it? Advice please!
I have had the mirena levonorgestrel IUD for over a year now which was put in during my last surgery to remove endometriosis and I've been experiencing certain symptoms which I can't narrow down and neither can the doctors despite having tests. The symptoms I've been experiencing are.... Chronic pelvic

Hi all - Very happy to have found this group. The first I have ever really joined medically. I usually just read and leave. Little bit about me and what is going on. I had terrible acne for my entire life and IBS. My brother has Chrones disease. Nothing treated my acne not even acutane after three

Pain around belly button (7 weeks post lap)
Hi ladies, I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on / if this is normal! I’m on what I think is my second period since my lap ( had a mirena inserted at the same time) I spotted for 2 weeks around the time my first was due and the spotting started again when my next one would be due. I’ve got

How quickly does it come back...
Hi all I had laparoscopy to remove endometriosis in March 2016 and until a couple of months ago everything felt so much better. Initially I had the implant however that was affecting my mood and had constant bleeding so I decided to come off it and try the mirena coil. It was horrible getting it fitted

Complex hyperplasia, what’s next?
I have endometriosis, 8 months ago I was heavily bleeding and was referred to a gynaecologist. They did a hysteroscopy and diagnosed me with complex hyperplasia without atypia. They said the best treatment for this would be the marina coil, so they put it in. They said I had a lot of scarring and my

Hysteroscopy but no biopsy
Hi, I've had a confusing few months. I'm 47, I was told ten years ago that I had a thickened womb lining and I have always had to have the mIrena coil as without it (I've tried twice) I just flood every two to three days. This last time of having it removed after the five years and seeing if maybe I'm

Looking for a little advice...
Hey guys I’m 23 from New Zealand and looking for advice I suppose...I haven’t been diagnosed with anything as of yet but all symptoms point to endo. I get extremely heavy periods for 3+ weeks at a time until I take mefnamic acid pills to stop it as at that point I am drained, exhausted and can’t deal

New to PCOS
Hi 😊 my name is Hannah and I’m 28. I had an ultrasound scan yesterday of my ovaries following a collapse at work with feeling lightheaded and dizzy and having pain on my right side. Initially the scan was to see if there were any ruptured cysts which there weren’t but it did highlight that my ovaries
