I had laparoscopy to remove endometriosis in March 2016 and until a couple of months ago everything felt so much better. Initially I had the implant however that was affecting my mood and had constant bleeding so I decided to come off it and try the mirena coil.
It was horrible getting it fitted, possibly because I also have a unicornuate uterus so my uterus is only half the size it should be. Since getting the coil I've progressively been feeling like the symptoms are all coming back - the last few months in particular. I can't figure out if the coil just doesn't work for me or if actually it's just grown back.
I have days where it hurts to go to the toilet, my stomach hurts so much i can't lie down on my front and I'm so tired.
I'm not sure what to do. I don't really want any more surgery yet, but don't know they best way to manage it. Need to be stricter on what I'm eating I know.
How quickly have other people's endo come back following laparoscopy?

I had a lap in June 2015 and had the mirena coil fitted at the same time. I was told that some of my endometriosis had not been removed due to its closeness to my bowel. I felt pretty good for about 18 months after surgery, but then my symptoms started to sneak back: stomach cramps, urinary frequency and feeling like I constantly had cystitis. After talking to my GP (she wrote to the consultant who suggested a return to zoladex which we thought was too extreme), I am now taking cerazette (progesterone only pill) as well. The coil works locally, and I think the strength of the hormone gradually reduces according to the manufacturers leaflet, whereas the pill is a more overall approach. Looking at forums, it does seem that a lot of people with endo now have both. I do feel there have been some negative side effects from taking the pill but as I'm in my mid 40s it's hard to tell how much of it is just getting older! And the benefits of not having my symptoms is great! I forgot to take the pill for 2 days recently and a week later, my symptoms came back briefly...a definite wake up to how much the pill helps. It might be worth thinking about in order to delay surgery? I really hope you find something that works for you.
