Mirena Coil and autoimmune disease link?
Hi there, I had a lap and excision for endo last year where I also had a Mirena coil fitted during the procedure. Long story short- since the op, I have developed a whole host of strange symptoms... a malar rash (but not testing pos. in bloods for SLE lupus), worsening aches and pains in joints, palpitations

Mirena coil with microgynon pill at same time?
Is it okay to take the microgynon pill whilst being on the mirena coil if you keep having bleeds? I'm from the UK but am in Spain till April. The GP prescribed me the pill incase I continued to have bad Endo pains/bleeds despite being on the mirena. I started taking the pill last night and have been

Endo belly with the Mirena Coil
I was diagnosed with endometriosis about a year ago, and it mostly affects my bowel movements. I have been managing it as much as possible with exercise, diet, juicing etc, and I got the Mirena Coil inserted about 6 weeks ago. It has definitely improved my mood, my energy levels, my sex drive and sex

Mirena coil urinating more frequently
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced changes to the way that they pee after having an IUS / IUD, and if that's 'normal'? Basically I have to pee more often, it takes ages, and I never feel like I'm fully done. I often have to go back a few minutes later. Also, during penetration (V

Omeprazole prescribed to go along side Naproxen - First time - How do I take!?
I have been taking Naproxen for a few years now - Instead of having them as prescribed I have got by having 1 when my pain is so horrendous I can't cope and just dealing with the pain at other times. I have had to take a considerable amount more since I had my Mirena coil fitted and have also been prescribed

Severe pain with the Mirena settling?
Hi guys, I just wanted to ask about if anyone after fitting the Mirena coil had severe bouts of sharp pain? This is after 2 months of it being fitted by the way. It literally is severely painful, shooting sharp knife pain through my uterus and backside and lasts in short bouts for hours on end. I don

Endometriosis or endometrial cancer?
My gp and gynea suspect endometriosis and I’m on the urgent waiting list for a lap. My mum was diagnosed with two primary cancers (womb & ovarian) when she was 45. The womb was only diagnosed once she had a full hysterectomy and the lab had done a biopsy and found she had womb along with the suspected

Still in agony after surgery
After 2 x years, 2 x surgeries and 2 x different diagnoses given (initially Pelvic Inflammatory Disease from the coil and now endometriosis) I am continuing to be in the same agony I was in before. The gynaecologist is suggesting to re-try the coil but I am so worried my body will again reject it, but

Back to square one
Hi all! I've just walked out of possibly the worst medical appointment of my life. Finally got to see an endo specialist instead of just a general gynaecologist and she opened by saying "You know you don't have endometriosis, what are you expecting from this appointment?" I was told after my laparoscopy

Norgeston mini pill
Hi Ladies, Is any one taking Norgeston mini pill for PCOS? Is it any good? It contains Levonorgestrel (the same as the Mirena coil). I have read it can cause headaches, Acne/skin reactions and weight gain, irregular periods/heavy periods - has anyone experienced this? I am undecided if I should try

Mini pill vs mirena coil
I've had my follow on from my laparoscopy and at this stage they are giving me a choice of remaining on my mini pill ( I can't take the combination pill because of migraines) or the mirena coil. What's your experience, what worked best for you? Including any side effects you may have experienced?

I am hoping to get some advise regarding my care. I was diagnosed as having endometriosis last year in March and had a laparoscopy later that year in July. I have been under the care of a general gynae. Initially, my gynae wanted me to have the mirena coil which at the time, I was not keen on having
