Mirena coil urinating more frequently

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced changes to the way that they pee after having an IUS / IUD, and if that's 'normal'?

Basically I have to pee more often, it takes ages, and I never feel like I'm fully done. I often have to go back a few minutes later. Also, during penetration (V or A) I feel like I have to pee, which I didn't before the Mirena.

It kind of feels similar to a UTI, but not painful at all, and I don't constantly need to pee, just more often, and weird when I do!!

Anyone have this?

Might be a silly question, but have you been tested to exclude a UTI ? How long has the coil been in for ?

Thank you, I hadn't been tested no, but it seems to have worn off now, so I guess that is what it was, just not as bad as ones I've had before!

might have been cystitis, as opposed to a full blown uti

I just googled that and you're pobably right. My mum always complained of excruciating pain when she had it, so I assumed it couldn't be that [face-palm]. Seeing as it feels better now, I'll leave it and mention it to my GP next time I get it checked! Thank you!
