Hey guys I got my mirena coil put in just over 3 months ago. I had one in about 4 years ago that worked really well for me. It was fairly uncomfortable but I forgot to take my painkillers so my fault really and this was before my children. Afterwards I got period like pains that last the rest of the day but I managed to go shopping before deciding to have a nap so they weren't too bad. I've had really heavy and painful periods since I was 12 so just another time of the month to me. Once settles I had absolutely no symptoms of anything at all. But this one's been annoying. Ever since it's been put in I have had pretty heavy bleeding then spotting then really wierd red jelly like clumps and small clots. Recently it calmed right down and I though great it's the 3 month mark this is when everything is supposed to settle down until a very heavy period started and pains to go with it. Really don't understand why the experience is so opposite. Has anyone else had similar experience to me?

Remember your body has changed a little since childbirth . The advice for the Mirena is that >60% of women will have no bleeding after 6 months. If its only been 3 months its a little early for your bleeding pattern to have settled.
