Mini pill vs mirena coil

I've had my follow on from my laparoscopy and at this stage they are giving me a choice of remaining on my mini pill ( I can't take the combination pill because of migraines) or the mirena coil.

What's your experience, what worked best for you? Including any side effects you may have experienced?

I'm in exactly the same situation and dont know what to do myself. Sorry I know that doesnt help. But you aren't alone.

I was advised to get the mirena coil fitted, and had it fitted about 6 hours ago. It really is not pleasant and has caused a lot of pain these past few hours but I’m persevering and hope it will help.

I would say go for it, I would rather this than surgery!

I am in the same position as you I was due to have my diagnostic laparoscopy on Tuesday and they were asking about the coil being fitted whilst I was under but felt I was put on spot a bit but in the end they cancelled my appointment last minute was was really annoying. Now rebooked for 27th so I guess I have till then to decide.
