Been told by gynae I'm too old for endo but gp disagrees?
I hope someone can help/advise please. I have been having severe abdo/gynae issues for a long time, but they have worsened in the past 12 months. I am 48 and my gp thought it was Endometriosis as I am having bowel and bladder issues, linked to my cycle. The pain is so bad I nearly pass out. I have seen

Hi everyone ☺️I'm going for a laparoscopy next week, much sooner than expected. I have been recommended to have the mirena coil inserted during my surgery but im undecided. Did anyone with experience of this find it beneficial? Thank you L x

So I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my early 20s, I'm now 37. I've had a couple of surgeries and a 6 month course of Zoladex during this time. I've tricycled my pill and also had a mirena coil, which was removed due to bleeding after 3 years of having it. My endo symptoms have got worse over the

Dienogest V’s Mirena Coil - Advice/Preference please
Hi all, I was officially diagnosed with advanced Endometriosis last year after having a large endometrioma removed from the left ovary. I subsequently had 9 x Decapapetyl injections which I found increasingly difficult to endure primarily due to side effects of hot flushes plus aggressive/depressive

Aristo levothyroxine
Hi I'm new to this group.I have suffered with an underactive thyroid for years and taken many different brands of levothyroxine. I was taking levothyroxine accord 100mcg for a few years but last year a dr said it needed to be reduced to 75mcg. Within a few months of doing 75mcg I had all the symptoms

Mirena coil
Hi, I got diagnosed endo last summer and since then I am taking the mini pill, one per day, for anout 5months. I have irregular bleeding, but no regular periods, sporadic pain which I am dealing with pain killer. The frequency of severe pain seems less, but still quite often I have pain in the morning

Post Lap Conctraceptive
Hi everyone, I have tried a LOT of different pills.. and tried the coil which caused 9 months of pain everyday. My GP fobbed off Endo, and so I went private. Had my first Lap on the 18th Jan and they found moderate Endo and managed to remove most of it. The pill I am on now (Marvelon) was controlling

Coil removal - won't stop bleeding
Hiya, I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience/ can advise me at all. I had my mirena coil removed on the 26th January (wasn't sitting right with me, I had it in for almost 4 months) and since I seem to be non stop bleeding, I then seem to completely stop for a day and then it starts over again

endo and mirena
Hi all, I have had the mirena coil now for almost 3 weeks and have experienced pain since it was fitted. I had it done just over half way through my cycle and started to bleed the day before I would have been due on anyway. I have been light bleeding now for 11 days and like I said had pains throughout

Gynae consultant says MRI is clear, but I've had endo treated before and I'm still in pain. Not sure what to do.
This is my first time posting here, trying to figure out what to do and would really appreciate any and all advice! I was first diagnosed with endo in 2015 when I ended up in A&E with the most excruciating pain. I had an internal scan in which they found a huge ovarian cyst - size of an orange, and

Can an IUS help with limb numbness?
I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. It's been a year and a half since the chronic pain began, and it's only got worse to the point I can't work full time any more. I live alone, walking is very painful, my personal hygiene has deteriorated, and I'm basically trapped in my own home. Doctors have tried

Endometriosis and tooth problems
Hello, I was diagnosed with endo in 2012 and I've had 4 laposcopys, a mirena coil fitted and removal of my left tube and ovary. Since then I've been put on 3 rounds of decapeptyl injections each month, (9 months on and 6 months off) over 4 years and I was only given HRT for my last round of the injections

Coil and Endometriosis
Hi all! I had my first laparoscopy back in May 2022 and I had a mirena coil put in as this was meant to help with the endo. A little background, it took me 9 years to be diagnosed and was put on every pill under the sun because my body would basically override it within 6-18 months. Having said that,

hormonal issues- is it the mirena coil?
Hi all, I wondered if anyone could give me advice, but I have been diagnosed with endometriosis last year and had my first laparoscopy surgery and all went fine and feel a lot better than I was before. I have got the mirena coil and have had since last year, however I’ve noticed whenever I am due

mirena coil - is it worth it? Other options?
Hi everyone, I had the mirena coil fitted 5 days ago and since then its caused me nothing but grief. I know it’s been a very short period of time and that for some people it can take months to settle, but I was doing so well in terms of pain and periods on the progesterone only pill before this and

Any advice?
My nearly 18 y/o has a 4 year plus history of endo. Confirmed with lap. A year ago mirena coil fitted, no improvement , constant bleeding - tried desogesterol, provera and now noriday. We have been repeatedly told she should persevere with the coil, it’s the “ holy grail” of endo treatment and we should

Contraception for endo
I have recently been diagnosed with mild endometriosis at the age of 29, I am looking to start a family in the next couple of years. Currently I am on no contraception and have heard the mirena coil or the pill is best to slow down my endometriosis developing any further. Wondered if I can have some

Excision - is it worth it?
I have recently seen an endo specialist who advised I have a lap and excision after seeing my left ovary is stuck to my pelvic wall, I have a blocked tube and a nodule on my rectum seen on a TV ultrasound with a specialist sonographer. However, I am really worried I will get adhesions following excision
