Experience of Supported Living
Hi, We have an ongoing battle with adult social care to get funding for activities for our daughter who is 24, has Autism (PDA) & moderate learning disability. As she needs a high level of care support (24/7) we are told there’s no money available to fund activities which are essential to keep her occupied

Am I just making symptoms fit?
After struggling with anxiety and depression for years and countless sessions of counselling, I'm wondering if I could have adult ADD. I have been reading a lot of articles and posts and it's like I wrote them about myself. Thinking about my childhood I struggled from an early age with extreme shyness

Why bother?
This may be a bit strange, considering I have “spoken” to some of you, trying to help, but I really don’t care if I live anymore. It’s been this way since my “meltdown” in 1997. No, I won’t kill myself (Although I would lie if I said I never thought of it [& various methods to do it.] a lot! Does anyone

Help to support PSP sufferer
I'm new here, first post. Really want to help counsel someone with PSP. Any tips from anyone would be so useful. Has anyone had counselling and what helped most in terms of helping with the emotional trauma of living with the condition and the way to deal with the prognosis. So far I think I have

Looking for pointers: long term (chronic) fatigue, now fibromyalgia
Hi there, I'm writing this on behalf of my wife, having obtained good advice on HealthUnlocked regarding my own health conditions and hoping to help her via this forum. My wife is (understandably) somewhat jaded, having exhausted conventional/semi conventional doctors without finding much interest in

Life after stroke
We have been working hard in
marriage
counseling
but my emotions are all over the place. I find myself striving to make us work some days and coming up with a plan for separation other days. The stroke really changed my mental health and my emotions are all over the place.

SIDE EFFECTS OF PRAMIPEXOLE - PARANOIA
One of the side effect of Pramipexole is paranoia. I am frightened being in my third floor flat on my own. I know that Iam perfectly safe but still feel fear. I’ve never been a nervous person and don’t know what I’m afraid of so think it might be the medication. Because I am rational about it the doctor

Begging for prayers - I am afraid and anxious
I saw my ex husband to be at court yesterday. I wanted to go to him and beg forgiveness and hug him and not let go. I miss even his big ears and belly. But I cannot do that. There's an order of protection against me from him that's complicated as I was manic when I got it. I feel so at fault with this

New to the Community
I'm new here, I am looking for support and to learn more about my PTSD. It might take awhile for me to open up, since its hard to talk about it. Its not something you flaunt around and just want to tell everyone. I hate feeling like an outcast, a burden if you will when I let people know my battle. My

Health Anxiety - It will create physical symptoms!!!
I guess it all started about 10 years ago. At the time I was a fairly new firefighter/paramedic. Saw all kinds of bad stuff, cancer, emphysema, heart attacks you name it. Without going in to too much detail let me just say that since 2010 I have self diagnosed (thanks to Mr. Google and my anxious mind

Cirrhosis, alcohol misuse and recovery.
I’m new to this forum and finding it fascinating and extremely helpful. I’m overwhelmed by the knowledgable answers to pretty much anything liver related. I won’t go into a huge amount of detail, but I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in March 2021. I was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and sepsis, but

Is this a therapist red-flag or am I being sensitive?
I'm trying to find a therapist who can actually offer guidance around ADHD and I'm getting super frustrated. It's been two years I've been shopping around. I was supposed to have a second online session with someone this week (our first session was two weeks ago because I was away last week). Scheduling

Marriage after IVF
Is anyone else finding their relationship a strain after IVF fails? I struggle with secondary infertility and have recently had two failed rounds of IVF. My husband is a lovely man but he is a typical farmers son, with a ‘keep going/no point in being sad’ attitude. Because we have our son my husband

Don't lose heart - you'll come through
Meant to write this for ages. This forum really helped 3-4 years ago when I got VERY ill & low, lost my job & livelihood, fell out with my family & became very unstable. I'm still on a low dose of carbimazole & still not back to pre-illness energy levels but thankfully I am SOOO much better! Bizarre
