LCHF / IF for August?
Hi all The title means Low Carbohydrate High Fat / Intermittent fasting. Both are ways of eating that can help people loose weight without the need to count calories or eat less and without the need to go hungry. Both ways of eating can also help to ease several health conditions. IF and LCHF work

Low sodium levels in bloodwork
My husband was dx with MSA-P in 2021 with automonic dysfunction as his dominant feature. His sodium levels have been trending downward since his dx. He experiences frequent periods of confusion throughout the day and I always attributed this to severe blood pressure swings but now wonder if it is low

Sick from Ozempic
I started on Ozempic in May of 2023 with .25 for 1month. Then to .50 for a month, and finally to 1 mg against my better judgment for a month. Told my Endo that I wanted to go back to .50 dose per week. I gave myself one dose. Five days later, I started feeling sick to my stomach, and had a dull pain

Radiation Proctitis looking for advise please.
I am a 62 year old woman and had pelvic external beam radiotherapy for five weeks ending in March 2023. Since then I have had bowel problems, a bit of urinary incontinence, lymphedema and tingling like sensations in my legs. Bleeding from my anus became worse in December. I have since had a colonoscopy

Hashimotos & Gluten Free
hi all, I have hashimotos/under active thyroid and have heard the benefits of going gluten free. I have occasional bloating but not many gut issues as such, my symptoms are more brain fog and fatigue. All my thyroid tests are optimal and in range so I’m thinking of trying a gluten free diet. Can anyone

TG6 , gluten ataxia, antibodies and a strict diet
I have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Cerebellum Ataxia for 6 years . My consultant recently arranged for a TG6 test at Sheffield hospital . TG6 and gluten ataxia
I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Cerebellar Ataxia in 2018 and had all the usual tests which proved negative . My neurologist in Aberdeen recently managed to arrange a TG6 blood test in Sheffield . The result was 4.2 U/ML , and a result >4 is positive.I have none of the usual symptoms of celiac disease

Over range copper and zinc
The only culprit I can think of is milk thistle. Any thoughts on over range copper and zinc? About a 10 months ago, zinc was low-ish and copper slightly over so I supplemented zinc for a short while but stopped a couple of months ago. Then the week before last started with milk thistle for liver support

Idiopathic ataxia or unknown cause.
Hi all. I urge anyone who has not yet been diagnosed with a particular type of ataxia , so idiopathic of unknown cause, which means they do not know what is causing it. To contact Sheffield and see if you can participate in a new study into gluten ataxia. Although a gluten free diet will not cure ataxia

Ttc with high tpo antibodies
I have had 3 miscarriages in the last couple of years. 1 spontaneous 2 mmc. Always around 6 to 7 weeks. I was given aspirin and progesterone on the last pregnancy but it didn't work. After my 3rd mc I had lots of investigations done and it showed I had high TPO antibodies. Everything else was normal.
