Is a Ketogenic diet actually beneficial for Kidneys
In the same way that eating eggs doesn't cause cholesterol is controlling your blood sugar, rather than a low protein diet key to reversing kidney damage? Ken Berry thinks so. Thoughts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QadlpylF-tw

5 months on dialysis
However I get
low
mood
a lot of the time. Fear of dying, fear of complications and just fear in general. I’m scared all the time. I had no match in my family except my sister who couldn’t donate due to having health issues herself.

Low Carb, High Fat - Well That Didn't Work Did It!
Many of you will know that I have been a Type 1 diabetic since the 1960s. Besides this site I keep a watching brief on a few diabetes sites. One thing being very much pushed is a low carb, high fat (LCHF) diet. Claims include that it achieves better diabetic ciontrol and despite being high in saturated

Update on LDN
A while back I posted that I would be trying low-dose naltrexone and would report the results. Here is an update after one month of LDN. I began taking 1.1mg of LDN in addition to my regular dose of prednisone. I had just tapered slowly to 12 1/2mg, taking 5mg at 2 AM. After a week I noticed no effect

Weaning off steroids causing mood changes?
I am going through a very long period of feeling over emotional, experiencing
low
mood
and just generally struggling with regulating my emotions. I read that steroids regulates hormones (please correct me if I'm wrong!)

Difficulty tolerating iron
I do have symptoms, hair thinning,
mood
issues, trouble sleeping, weight gain,
low
thyroid. It's very strange as I don't tolerate it well anymore, I've tried several different brands and forms.

Low sodium diet
Hi everyone!I am here, on this forum for my husband's CKD/proteinuria (all unexplained- kidney biopsy was "normal" as well as his genetic test). Anyway, his Nephrologist put him on low sodium November 30th. I went on it with him and haven't had a migraine since! So for those of you who are supporting

Next steps?
In November that gave way to a phase of textbook hypo symptoms - fatigue, muscle cramps when I tried to exert myself even in a minor way, crippling stabbing headaches, feeling all dried out, brain fog, much more
low
mood
than anxiety.

W2R1 - a wonderful morning
I was going to do this 'run' yesterday but I woke with a 'thick' knee, thick is probably a little bit of an incorrect description, more like tight/stiff, it normally clears when I've been up and about a little bit. Back to the purpose of this post, I headed downstairs, put the bin out and then went

So pleased
I was told I had NASH a year last October. As a result, I was sent for a Fibroscan and my kpa reading was 36.6. My liver image looked white with fat.I have type 2 diabetes, gall stones and a hiatus hernia. I was floored by the diagnosis and stressed so much. My anxiety level went through the roof. I

Advice starting T3 please
Just to add, I did ask her is it normal to have the forgetfulness, brain fog,
low
mood
I get? Response was, no, not on your numbers. Left me feeling yet again that it's all in my head, maybe I've got early dementia or I really need those antidepressants the doctors suggest, I really hope not.
