My symptoms are

What I learned about steroids and blood sugar levels from wearing a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) on the ZOE program
I’ve just finished using a CGM for 2 weeks as a paying participant in the ZOE study, which I mentioned in a previous post: https://healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk/posts/149526653/ive-signed-up-for-tim-spectors-zoe-study-looking-at-blood-sugars-and-gut-health Many PMR and GCA patients, self-included, have

Hi Have been following a low-carb diet for several years to lose weight because of heart problems. Just had Hb1ac test and my results are going 38, 39, 40, 41! Nurse at surgery said it is my body shutting down! At 80, I really hope not

Struggling with flare up
Since last Wednesday my asthma has flared up. I have been taking regular reliever (mart regime fostair 100/6)every 4 hrs. I have had tight chest and peak flow dropped to 350/500. Although I not making my top peak flow as my lungs are still healing from pneumonia. Now I woke up with soreness in my diaphragm

sweating and tired
I’m having masses of hot flashes and I’m really tired. I’ve lost 10kg over the last three months (deliberately through low carb diet) but I’m thinking that might mean I’m now over medicated because I am less kilos than before. The other possibility is that I’ve not used my hrt patch for a few weeks

Baseline figure from lung function test
After 10 days post hospital admission with pneumonia I went to have a lung function test at my local hospital. The result of the test was 438 a new baseline. My usual top peak flow is 500 (very unused as it doesn't match my height, sex and ethnicity) I should be blowing 420. One explanation was that

Advice please
I've recently been given these but a week of taking them I feel awful with
low
mood
, tiredness and headaches. I've previously had Prostap but didn't like all the side effects. I'm waiting for a 3rd laparoscopy before they will do a hysterectomy but I could be waiting another year.

Low ferritin
Does anyone have an opinion on the effect of
low
ferratin on tiredness, motivation or
mood
? I suspect I have lost some of my drive since I was diagnosed.

IMPROVEMENT!
After nearly two years of waiting, I finally got to see a consultant! He gave me various tests and blood tests and came to the conclusion that it's not my bronchiectasis that's the problem, it's my asthma. I'm now taking a Seretide 250 inhaler and feeling a whole lot better. Although still not brilliant

Bronchiectasis and unrelated antibiotics
Yesterday I had dental surgery to extract a molar because it was fractured ( could that be due to many many events with prednison???), and now I am on antibiotics amoxicilin. Dentist says 6 days or so. In general my peak flow always increases with antibiotics for other reasons (dental, urinary), but

Wich is why my anxiety is through the roof and my

. Cptsd stuck me in the past and cut my future off at the knees. Now I'm old in a depressed blind panic. If you're old without family and poor your out of luck.

New to biologics - don't feel particularly well.
Evening all. Hope everyone is managing ok in this cold weather 🥶. So in the last 2 weeks I've had to take rescue doses for my adrenal insufficiency, had 2 emergency hydrocortisone injections (each one administered by work colleagues a week apart) as not caught early enough and generally felt off.
