Get woken up by Restless Legs
So whilst I tend to have fidgety legs during the day, I'm not bothered by them. However, night times are a different matter. I have no problems falling asleep but approx. 90 mins into my sleep I'm awoken by me restless legs and am often then awake for 2-4 hours before falling asleep again. I was originally

Sore mouth, ulcers, avastin.
Had avastin added to my carbo/taxol regime two weeks a go. For the last 10 days I ha ve had a painful, sore burning mouth and ulcers on my tongue. I’ve been using the mouthwashes from the hospital, which haven’t really helped but sting a lot! Anyone else suffer with this and how long does it last?

Viral meningitis
I have had VM, unfortunately the virus was not a usual strain so I did not respond to any IV treatments they usually give to VM patients. I had to fight it myself with a temp of 40.2. How long will the headaches last? Been in hospital 3 weeks only recently discharged and scared for the future .Any advice

Things don't seem to be getting better at night. While I have foot tightening and spasm like sensations during the day, I get an irresistible urge to stretch my legs at night so I can never get comfortable in bed. Sometimes I have to lie on top of the blankets to get any relief. I had a chat with my

Does shingles cause Hashimoto’s to flare up?
I have had Hashimoto’s now for about 3 years and I’m still finding it hard navigating my way through the symptoms and flare ups. I have suffered from very bad crippling anxiety over the last year and half which hasn’t helped with the lockdown and dealing a 4 year old and 1.5 year old while attempting

Total shock re operation
Hi everyone, I’ve just been asked to attend a pre op appt for 26th April . My last op was cancelled just as lockdown started. The op is for muscle reattachment of my hip, I’ve had nothing but trouble with a metal on metal which was first done 1999, it was fine for 6 years and from then on I’ve had

General anaesthetic recovery period
I have a problem in that I have to have a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic the day after tomorrow and it had been arranged that my daughter would stay with me for 24 hours as advised by hospital. She now finds that she can't do this - for reasons I don't fully understand - and that she would stay

Unexplained Mouth pain
Hi I have lupus and sjögrens syndrome and have had pain in my mouth located in my gums for more than 7 months now. ADHD diagnosed 68 years old grandma
I got my first D in 3rd grade and my first F in 4th grade, and was used as an example by 5th grade teacher as a lazy day dreamer that was a waist of his time. As an under achiever, I was an imbarrassment to my parents. I became socially awkward, so I walked to school instead of riding the bus. I

Apnea due to opioid use?
I read that one of the causes of central sleep apnea is opioid use. That puts the person at risk for stroke or heart issues. There apparently is no treatment for refractory RLS that doesn't have serious side effects. My question is this: Has anyone with RLS developed apnea as a probable result of opioids

Signs of B12 deficiency in the mouth
Hi All, I posted most of this on another thread but thought I'd start my own thread in case someone found it useful. Sometimes the route to diagnosis of B12 deficiency can involve other health professionals besides GPs. If you have a GP who won't listen to your concerns about B12 deficiency maybe other

What's your experience with gabapentin side effects going away?
I have read that gabapentin side effects can go away after one or two weeks. I was taking 600 mg of gabapentin while coming off ropinirole which I am now off of. It helped me sleep at night but did not stop my restless legs, nor the pain I had in my legs during the day. So experimenting, I tried 900

Poor sleep hygiene
Before the age of 20 when I started making sense of RLS I think I learned to violate every rule or guideline they suggest for a good nights sleep. I was too young and clueless to know these bad habits and coping mechanisms would become hard wired and difficult to overcome. I remember trying to be distracted

Lyrica restart?
Lyrica worked fabulously for my PLMD even at 50mg. Unfortunately I increased the dose to 300mg. over time to deal with insomnia, which caused daytime sedation and depression. I am now slowly reducing the Lyrica, hoping maybe the lower dose will work for my PLMD and not cause those side effects. As

Dopamine agonists and their aftermath - A Survey
Hello All I have been off dopamine agonists for more than two years now, thanks to methadone and buprenorphine. Both were - and are - a blessing (insofar as any drugs could be called such), as many of you will know. But I would like to know how many of us feel, even long after quitting dopamine agonists
