Ferritin concern
My Ferritin level is 126. I thought this was triggering my severe RLS since I had a total knee replacement in November , 2023. My RLS is off the rail . I want an Iron infusion, but the health group I belong to, does not believe I need this? I am traveling the next 2 months, will take Sinemet to use on

severe pain with no inflammatory markers
Hi everyone. Can anyone relate to this please? Briefly I had a surgery in early February and haemorrhaged afterwards. My left keg became very stiff and uncomfortable which quickly escalated to a limp, followed by severe pain and stiffness. I have seen four GP`s, rang Rheumatology seven times, referred

When Your AF Meds Crash the Pain Relief Party
I am currently on a waitlist for a total knee replacement (TKR) and have been diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial flutter/atrial fibrillation (AF/AFL). Before the surgery, I plan to have an in-depth conversation with the anesthesiologist regarding the strong pain medications (opioids) typically prescribed

more joint issues
hello , has anyone on this wonderful platform needed an ankle fusion? My sub talar joint has collapsed and I have been recommended a fusion and repositioning of tendon. In the meantime I have been troubled by severe knee pain , X-ray was normal! However MRI shows a meniscal tear and stage 4 osteoarthritis

Ankle manipulation and RLS/PLMD jerking
I am an 82 year old woman with severe RLS and PLMD which I have had for about 5 years now. I take 1800 mg gabapentin and 500 micros clonazepam each night. And I still have to get out and walk for 30 minutes twice or three times every night In March of last year I had a total knee replacement

KNEE SURGERY?
High folks, went to see my consultant a few days ago, asked when I was getting my 1st surgery and we discovered I am NOT on the waiting list. This is apparently due to a CLERICAL ERROR with the orthopedic department. My consultant, lovely person has promised me she will ask for a priority appointment

income options while waiting for treatment
My employer finally terminated my contract last month because of the nature of my job and the deteriorating condition of my knee. I have tricompartmental osteoarthritis in my knee which has now got to the point where every step I take is sore, my job was contracting to a large company working on kitchen

CHANGE OF BIOLOGIC TREATMENT
Hello, I have had Rheumatoid arthritis since my late 30s (77 now). I had several biologic treatments , some of which did not really control the RA well… The best biologic was Enbrel (Etanercept) weekly injections. It gave me my life back for 14 years until I had my second knee replacement operation

Help Please 🙏🏻
Hi everyone, I desperately need the advice of people who can understand my situation. I am afraid for the first time since I became ill in 1990 that I am at my wits end and simply do not know what to do. I had a cavernous haemangioma removed from my nasal cavity in February. I suffered a haemorrhage

supplements and lifestyle
Hello guys, I’ve found the advice from you folks to be really helpful since I’ve been on here moaning and groaning so I just wondered if any of you have experienced any measurable improvement in arthritis symptoms using supplements and lifestyle changes? I have just been recommended for TKR surgery

TKR waiting list
I have had an appointment today at orthopaedic and trauma where they x-rayed both my knees and I’ve finally been recommended for TKR in my right knee. I am so pleased and relieved. The doctor doing it has full 5 star reviews and has explained procedures before, during and after surgery, he has told me

POST TKN
Hi all.I've had my TKR - 7 weeks ago now. I know it's possibly an individual thing but has anybody any idea as to how long before the affected leg is straight. The bend in my new knee is now at110 degrees and my Consultant is happy with the progress but I forgot to ask about the leg straightening fully

I need advice about taking Hydroxycarbamide
I’m 70 years old and just been diagnosed with ET Jak2. I’ve been put on 500 mg of Hydroxycarbamide but I’ve just received my script and read the leaflet and side effects and I’m afraid to start them. I had a knee replacement 5 months ago and took a blood clot followed by night sweats and a viral infection

CLL diagnosis
Hello all, I have just been diagnosed with CLL, because of a blood test in preparation for knee replacement surgery! I have a no symptoms other than mild fatigue. The encologist said this disease doesn’t mean that it’s the end. Some people go for years without symptoms. I am in good health and stay fit

Knee relacement
Hi, I have osteoarthritis in my left knee and am now scheduled for a half knee replacement in a couple of weeks time. I was wondering if anyone has had one recently? I am wondering how long it will take to recover and any other useful insights people might have?
