knee surgery
I’ve been put in the waiting list to have a total knee replacement and the waiting list is approx 6 months. I’m on 17.5 mgs of pred. The surgeon has said my healing might be slow because of the pred. Had anyone else had a knee replacement while on a higher dose of pred? I’m a little worried about having

UPDATE ON HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY
Hello everyone, I had my hip replacement surgery a week ago today. It went well. I went into the theatre at 9 am and in the recovery room at 11 am. I spent 5 hours in recovery because they had to discharge patients and sanitise the beds and wards so newly operated on patients could have a bed! That

Parkie King of the slopes - again
So. Coming up for 5 years post diagnosis, 31 January and the tax return marathon behind me, glorious sunshine following a huge dump of snow - it would have been rude not to go skiing with my chums.A bit apprehensively if truth be told, not least because my boots had rotted and I had to hire a pair. But

Knee replacement soon & on 8mgs pred
I am finally in the pipeline for one of my knee replacements in 6-8wks time. I have been reducing very slowly from 15mg and currently on 8mg. I have decided I will not reduce further until well after my knee surgery. I put on 6 stone in 6 months when I started pred, this has impacted on my knee pain

While I remember….
While I was sharing a four bay ward post hip replacement, two ladies - who had a total knee replacement and the other a half knee replacement - told me that although, like me, they had a spinal block plus sedation they both could hear the sawing and hammering and what the surgeons were saying…. but

Before I knew I had ataxia my Dr. said a knee replacement was necessary. How do I know what is causing my pain and balance problems?

Hello all, its been sometime since I put something on here. I have had RA for about 15 years and after being diagnosed, methotrexate kept it under control for about 4 years. Then Humira for a further 6/7 years which was a life saver. I had a knee replacement in 2021, complete success but when I went

HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY
Hello, Am booked for a hip replacement operation on 1st February. I had 2 knee replacement operations in 2017 and 2018. Although a hip replacement is supposed to be somewhat less painful and easier to recover from, I am dreading it for the simple reasons I have severe rheumatoid arthritis - so stopping

I'm alive!!
The knee replacement went extremely well! My rìght knee (the one that was replaced) is actually stronger than the left knee and only 3 weeks after surgery! Hip, Hip, Hooray! My MS didn't flair up at all, unlike when I went septic back in August. Life is good and for the first time in a long time I

Bone-on-bone knee pain and RLS?
I don't want to limit this question for Joolsg because I welcome advice and experience from others, as well. But, Joolsg, I saw a post you replied to about 3 months ago in which you said, arthritic knees will definitely trigger RLS. I have had osteoarthritis in both knees for years and bone-on-bone

Genetic osteoarthritis especially in my knees, was using magnesium spray, but since on Radiotherapy PC sessions, wet weather, suggestions?
Have had genetic osteoarthritis in my knees for decades, my Uncle and Brother have both had knee replacements, but have been advised by friends [and brother] find alternative relief solutions! Maybe it is because of PC radiotherapy treatment or wet weather ALWAYS worst time of the year, but particularly

Chiropractor or Osteopath
I am currently 10 weeks post op from a TKR and my mobility is good but I am experiencing lower back pain which is different to my usual back pain. I am trying to walk mindfully but am thinking I might need some help but I don't know the difference between a chiropractor and an osteopath. Who could help
