Is the answer age-related valid?
My potassium level showed up on my blood test as 6 and they gave me a binder for two days and a diet I must follow. What I can not get is an answer to my question is this a kidney problem or the effect of the blood pressure perindopril I have taken for ten years? I am 78.

Potassium’s use and Trigeminal Neuralgia Events
Hello this is my first time posting so be kind. I have MS and have been prescribed Klor-Con M20 potassium as a result of diarrhea. Now I am having Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) events sometimes 3-times per day and as you know if you have had them they hurt. I read somewhere that a person said to avoid bananas

I'm ringing gp today to get more scans while waiting for my op in 4 months. It feels like something heavy in inside my left side and I can feel a lump bad and when touch or push on it it's really pain full hopefully they can check my kidney and liver also as something seems worst and dont seem right.

Anal bleeding
Hi there, I’ve been having horrible stomach pain on and off for months now. A year ago I had poop samples took by my Gp but never had any results. Today I was in pain trying to poo, I looked into the bowl and it’s full of blood, I’ve had blood on a tissue before but nothing like this! I’m slightly scared

Kidney disease
Hello all! I have a GCA for 20 months now and I’m now down to 5 mg prednisone. I just got my blood work back yesterday and I see that my creatinine level indicates that I have chronic kidney disease stage three. I had a UTI several weeks back and now I have to pee all the time. I did a little research

Gfr of 76 and 80, how worried should I be?
I'm 22 years old. I've been experiencing issues with my bladder where I often get the urge to urinate. It usually gets worse when anxiety kicks in i.e in a lecture with alot of people, and i noticed it since then. I've been visiting the GP for blood tests and recently my GP told me about the GFR rates

Week 2 Buddy?
Anyone on Week 2? Looking for an online buddy or some chat with someone who is at the same point as me? I’m doing in part for health reasons as I’m waiting for a kidney transplant. Doing most of the actual runs with my partner, unfortunately he finds them very easy and is naturally fit!

1 month out from RF ablation for asymptomatic afib
Hi. I was diagnosed with afib in late 2019 at age 66 and put on an anti-coag and sotalol. I was in and out of afib quite regularly but rarely symptomatic. Three cardioversions failed to restore normal sinus rhythm (NSR) for any real length of time, so ablations were suggested (I live in the US.) Since

Health Anxiety and Somatic Symptom Disorder
When I first started experiencing this, I was convinced I had heart
failure
. Eventually that fear turned into a fear of having
kidney
failure
, then came a fear of internal bleeding, followed by a fear of the C word and now I have a fear of having ALS.

Lab results - no diagnosis yet...
Hi everyone. I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about my husband going to the Nephrologist for the first time. At the consultation, his Nephrologist was pretty optimistic but also concerned with the microhematuria. We both know something is going on but it's becoming clear that getting a proper diagnosis

(Off topic) Probiotic formula recommendations?
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a truly effective probiotic formula? I've had a secondary infection following covid and had to take some antibiotics. I didn't even finish them as I reacted to them quite badly, but they were still pretty strong stuff and now even a month later am having grumbling

Hib Vaccine query…..😊
Hi lovely lung people, quick question about Hib vaccines (for use in adults who have problems with Haemophilis Influenzae and Strep Pneumoniae.) I’m in my 40s but received the (child’s) Hib vaccine in 2018 (along with pneumonia vaccine) and would like to know what the protocol is regarding re vaccination

A diary of (hopefully) achieving a diagnosis
Also pushed on to try by a family situation involving my brother where his concerns were dismissed about his own health and he is now in sudden end stage
kidney
failure
and on dialysis awaiting transplant.

At a Dialysis Crossroads
I have to decide whether to get a fistula in my arm and go with hemodialysis, or go with peritoneal dialysis. I spent a couple of hours in a center talking to a couple of nurses about peritoneal dialysis and it sounds like a bad choice given its near constant presence in your life. With hemodialysis

I'm a bit Scared, to be honest😥
Dear All, Several of my neighbours, we only have eighteen flats, have had/ currently 'have' COVID. Now I know that this 'Variant' isn't as Serious- to Most People that is! However I am Immune Suppressed, due to BOTH Vasculitis AND a Kidney Transplant (in July 2013).Clearly IF I DO contract, this disease
