My best friend has had kidney failure for some years. Six months ago he suddently got very sick again. Multiple blood transfuisions. Dialysis twice a week. Been in ICU more than not last 6 months. Last week he was vomitting blood.

Hello, my husband was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy about 7 years ago, was told he had about 5 years until possible kidney failure, the Dr was right on timing. May of 2023 he was hospitalized with ESRD, we have been to MUSC and Mayo Clinic to begin the journey to getting a transplant.

Is there a link between kidney failure and aphasia?

Originally I had atypical HUS which caused my kidney failure. I had my catheter put in yesterday and haemodialysis for 1 hour. 2 hours booked Monday and will be increased again Wednesday. I feel so sad but I was relieved the session went well yesterday.

I believe it was adjusted as the dose was too high causing kidney failure. Is this a normal part of HF treatment and is it possible they will find a balance that works well? Are there any success stories out there?

My hubby's treatment is venetoclax and acalabrutinib (he previously had obinutuzumab too). He is also taking sulfameth trimeth (for ammonia) and valacyclivor (for shingles) dropped from 1200 to 800 mg a day. We just saw a Renal Specialist Dr and she said that they really don't know the full extent

My younger and only brother is in stage 5 kidney failure. I have appointments to be sure I am free of any ailments. I am scheduled to be in Chicago for more testing, again, to make sure my kidney is healthy so I can give him one of my kidneys. It has hit me that this is really happening.
