Full Knee Replacement
I've been scheduled for a full knee replacement on Thursday next week (will have a friend stay with me for the first week). Does anyone have any hints and tips? I will buy a grabber thingy and have been looking at gadgets to help me put socks on - but am confused by all the different sorts. Rheum

Too heavy, feeling depressed.
Hi & happy, healthy new year š Prev spoke with Slow Dragon š was so grateful for the good advice back then. My Levothyroxine dose increased to 200 i had hoped it would help me loose some weight. No such luck and after recent blood test, I was told to reduce dose to 175. I feel fine, tbh no different

ITCHING
Hi all. I have Lymphodema in both my legs. I had total knee replacement 4 weeks ago, my knee is swollen and my lower leg and foot is is swollen. My skin is very dry in those areas. Obviously, I have swelling because of the surgery but also because of the Lymphoedema so decided to get back to my ritual

Total knee replacement and AF
Hi Firstly thank you to everyone who has offered their support previously since I was diagnosed with AF last November. Over the last few years I have been trying to hold off a total knee replacement. (TKR) I was walking more to strengthen my muscles to support my knee and managed to ditch the brace

Has anyone returned to sprinting (60m, 100m, 200m) after a total hip replacement. I am 69 and just over 2 years since the operation and wondering if anyone has or knows of experience in returning to sprinting after a THR ? I have just over a year before going into the 70-74 age group and potentially

Update on...Buprenorphine seems to be failing! Help!
Well, thank you for all the replies and the wisdom which has been offered. I saw my GP yesterday and explained the situation, told him of the solutions others had found (Lotte) and then asked him what his advice was. He thought about it and offered taking Sifrol as a first solution which I told him I'd

Iām re-posting in case anyone has any insights on these results ā¦.
these tests were done after I had increased my ThyroGold dose from 450mg to 600mg but I have not felt any discernible improvement in my symptoms which have got worse. I had a total knee replacement last July and things seem to have gone haywire since then.

Osteoporosis meds
I've been on coumadin for almost 11 years for a heart valve replacement and Orgovyx for about 2 years and three months for metastatic prostate cancer. I just had my first bone scan in August 2022 and a second Dec. 8, 20203, and bone less is progressing. I've been using estradiol patches for about 10

Attended Late Effects Clinic - Answers at last
Yesterday I received the news that my two year post op checkup for Stage 3b cancer was still clear and led nicely to being seen at the clinic in Clatterbridge today. It was so nice for a specialist to be listening, explaining what the probable cause was and then offering solutions where possible.

āOldā hip hurting with PMR more than ānewā hip?
Hello All. Apologies for bothering you with this but I am lucky enough to have got an appointment with the wonderful Professor Rod Hughes tomorrow and am compiling a list of things I would like to discuss with him. Hope he is well and in a good mood! One of the issues is that I had a right hip replacement

Ahhhh well, I guess it could be worse!
A while back, I was seen by a lady at the pain clinic, who said that I have āScoliosis convex to the right with minor anterior vertebral body height loss at T12, L3 and L4. Disc space narrowing at the lumbosacral level with hypertrophy of the lower lumbar facet jointsā. The pain is really intense,

Saw the elbow surgeon yesterday, he's putting me on the waiting list, category P3. Can someone explain what that means, categories were not mentioned when I had neurosurgery and hip replacements. Thanks.
