I’m re-posting in case anyone has any insights on these results ….

these tests were done after I had increased my ThyroGold dose from 450mg to 600mg but I have not felt any discernible improvement in my symptoms which have got worse. I had a total knee replacement last July and things seem to have gone haywire since then.

I've no experience of NDT, I thought people generally go on symptoms rather than blood test results, but if I got these results I'd be looking to increase... you mention a knee op, have you tested your B12, Vit D, folate and ferritin since then? Anaesthetic strips the body of B12

Thank you Tiggerme. I haven’t been tested for vitamins since the op - I’ll get that done when I do the full panel for my endo appointment. I do take a vitamin b complex daily, the pink tribe one as recommended by someone on the forum. I also take 10,000iu +K2 daily. I’ll get this all done I. The next couple of weeks.

I'm not a fan of the Pink Tribe B complex as it has the iffy form of B6 which didn't work for me, swapped to one with P-5-P and felt a whole lot better

Gosh it’s all a shocking great minefield isn’t it. I will investigate as I’ll need to replenish soon. Thank you x

Just went to investigate ThyroGold hormone content... and wonder how effective it is as 600mg equates to 200mcg T4 and 50mcg which would be a high dose if taking standard tablets 🤷‍♀️

Mmmm … I have heard others report that the efficacy is not consistent from one batch to the next. I was doing quite well early last year and spontaneously lost a stone but all went Pete Tong after the op. I am hoping against hope that the endo might suggest a trial of t4 and t3. At least the results of testing would be quantifiable.

You might try adding some levothyroxine to improve low Ft4

Thank you SlowDragon. I have some 100mcg left over from when I started NDT so I’ll start that straightaway and see what happens….

Try adding max 25mcg daily

Retest in 6-8 weeks

cutting 100mcg into 1/4’s using sharp craft scalpel or pill cutter

Get weekly pill dispenser to store spare 1/4’s in

Thanks for that SlowDragon. I have a pill cutter with storage so I’m all set!

Wow! That was a fairly comprehensive overview. Thank you x

If you're taking vit D, are you also taking magnesium? The two work together and if you don't take it, the vit D will use up all your magnesium.

No point in testing magnesium, the results are not reliable due to the way the body handles it. :)

Oh dear! In the back of my mind I did know this but I remember looking at the options and went into a spin about all the various types and lost the will. I will get into gear and do something about it now. Thank you greygoose x
