Zoladex and HRT for Endometriosis
I'm new here and looking for advice/stories about what other ladies have experienced. I've suffered with painful periods for a long time and after years of trying every method of contraception I can I have (FINALLY) recently been referred to a specialist consultant who believes the most likely culprit

Doing much better on synthetic than bio-identical HRT
Sorry if this question has been asked before. I have been on HRT for the past five years, now 52. The worst symptoms have been hot flushes day and night, profuse night sweats and mood swings. I first saw a functional doctor who put me on bio-identical HRT (Oestrogel and Utrogestan). I never experienced

Advice please - T3 trial, TSH undetectable, feeling awful!
Hello all. Would be so grateful for some pointers on what to do - I am at a loss. I have hashimotos hypothyroidism for 12 years. In a nutshell, I've paid to see a private endo recommended here as I was struggling with fatigue and he agreed to try me on a trial of T3 alongside (a reduced amount of)

Had a St Jude mechanical valve installed in 2016 (age 15) and now at the age of 42 possibly facing it requiring replacement. Waking at night with racing heart and palpitations.
Hi all, I am waiting for aorta valve replacement and with the new out break of Omicron I realise the wait is going to be longer then normal. I've been waiting since June last year so not too long. I am getting stressed waking up several times through the night with my heart racing and palpitations. I

AF, Warfarin, and Tramadol
Hiya guys and gals, I posted on here a while back about shoulder pain, sleepless nights et al. Many, many of you gave me some great insights for which I am grateful. I think the general consenus supported my GP's view that this pain wasn't so much AC joint related but tendon/rotator cuff related. I

AF and headaches
Hi, I had an ablation last July, I’ve now had 7 af episodes in the last two months with a painful headache over right forehead which paracetamol has no affect and chest is tight, my BPM is generally between 50/60 at all times, only goes higher when I exercise 3 times a week for 2 hours, my doctor thinks

Lifestyle 🏊♀️ 🧘♀️ 🏃♀️💪🏻🚴🥗💧🍷🧂🍫👍 (long post alert - get a cuppa tea ☕️)
Lots of people ask about lifestyle & what has made a difference to ‘me’. Emphasis on me because everyone is so different. That said everyone should live as healthy as is possible, respecting ability, illness, and other limits people have. A 2 hr walk to me might be 10 minutes is all someone can manage

My menopause symptoms have started to come back. Could it be that my body's naturally produced hormones have reduced?
I have been on Tibolone 2.5mg for 3 years. In the last 6 months my symptoms have started to return (hot flashes, low mood, tired, weight round trunk and aches) Nowhere near as bad as before going on HRT but I have an annual appointment on Wednesday with the nurse to review my HRT. I wanted to ask

Psoriatic Arthritis?
I have RA currently tolerable, OA, PN, and a few lesser problems. A few weeks ago I had severe electrical-like shocking pains in my back vertebrae for two days. It went away but then my legs started breaking out in itchy red bumps and my full knee replacement knee is very painful. Could this be psoriatic

Frustrated
Was going soo well, running again following knee replacement, and putting on the lockdown belly,67 years old and feeling every year of it,then decided I have to give the Cto5k (which I downloaded about 4 years ago) a try. Played football until I was 60 then walking football before knee replacement

Hip Replacement
Unfortunately, the ball of my right hip has been hit with a large amount of bone mets. It is causing me a lot of pain when I walk or stand. My onc. is worried about fractures and had me see an orthopedic doc who specializes in bone diseases. Her recommendation is a partial hip replacement. Still

Hey lovely AFibbers. Been a while & I said I would post after cardio Appmt in Dec. I had my specialist consultation in Dec with the teaching hospital, my local district general had referred me to. It has been agreed that I will have to have surgical not catheter ablation due to my occluder device. However

HRT and chest pain
Hi, hope a helpful heartie on here can help me. Has anyone been prescribed HRT to help alleviate daily angina? I’m still waiting on a diagnosis for my INOCA. (Ischemia with Non Obstucted Arteries). I’ve only had 6 days without chest pain in the last 4 weeks with a trip to A&E. All tests were negative

Test tomorrow - what about HRT?
Hi all. I’m having my Medichecks blood test done tomorrow morning. I stopped all supplements two weeks ago. I took my thyroxine as normal last night and won’t take any tonight. But what should I do about my HRT? Can I take that as normal this morning and tonight? I have progesterone, estrogen and testosterone

Advice on zoladex for premature menopause to combat endo pain
Hello ladies I had a 7cm endometrioma cyst on left ovary removed in April 2021, left ovary removed along with both Fallopian tubes. My right ovary had no cysts so was able to be kept but it had to be detached from uterus wall due to adhesions. Recovery was long and slow (they said 2 weeks!) and although

Suffering through major depression brought on by menopause…
Has anyone had their doctor confirm the link between the onset of menopause and a major depressive episode? What treatment was recommended and did it work? Is hormone replacement helpful? I have been paralyzed by this depression. It began last August and hung on loosely as I struggled to continue working

T4 supplements in subclinical hypothyroidism do not have significant effects on cardiac performance in older people
This paper shows that T4 supplementation in older adults with subclinical hypothyroidism has no effect on future cardiovascular events. It thus does no harm and therefore does not justify any alarm that T4 in SCH has any bad effect at all ages. So If a dctor says that no therapy will be given in SCH

Got diagnosed with lupus 5 years ago. Usual stuff, joint pain, rashes, pleurisy, migraines, tinnitus. Am menopausal too just started hrt because the insomnia night sweats were the straw that broke me. When we're newly diagnosed we have no clue about how important the thyroid gland is in running our whole body, from head to toe. Many of us wonder why our symptoms aren't relieved when first beginning thyroid hormone replacements, i.e. levothyroxine (T4) for instance that should convert to liothyronine
