Invitation to see a presentation about fictional and real-life cardiac devices :)
Hi everyone. As many of you know, I'm living the dream and doing a PhD about literary representations of chronic heart disease. I have recorded a presentation about a little bit of my recent research, looking at the fictional cardiac devices of Peter Bunzl's children's novel Cogheart, and how these relate

I am 16 months post kidney transplant. I always have the need to urinate and this is affecting my life in many ways. I cannot hold my urine there is too much pain and there is always this urge to go. Sometimes I even have to go every 30 minutes. I got tested for urine infection and it was negative

Severe Sweating After My Kidney Transplant 3 Years Ago.
Oct 31 will be my 3-year kidney anniversary. I take 4mg of Envarsus (Tacro) and 5mg of Prednisone daily. I am doing exceptionally well except for the severe sweating that causes me to change clothing multiple times during the night and day. It happened for a while last year. The doctors did a number

Kidney failure following liver transplant
I'm now 7 weeks post transplant and my liver is working perfectly, but at clinic this week my kidney blood tests were elevated to moderate (stage 3) kidney failure. Is this common following a transplant and is it something that will improve or continue to be a concern or get worse? P.s. I am diabetic

One more to go 👍💪
I’m planning on doing my graduation run on Sunday morning. I really can’t believe I’ve got this far. Tomorrow is exactly a year since I had my kidney transplant donated by my twin sister. This time last year I couldn’t walk the length of myself and now I’ve run 5k for both of my last runs. The gradual

Would you recommend the use of sauna for someone with CKD or Kidney transplant? Any good experience?
I have been reading a lot about the benefits of infrared sauna in general about health(cardiovascular, inflammation, cognitive, hormonal). Some studies mention benefits to the kidney function (http://europepmc.org/article/MED/17267744). Before buying one I would like to know if anyone had positive results

Immunosuppressant medication
hi all. Currently taking 8miligram daily of tacrolimus and 2 500miligram of microphenolate and now being eighteen months post transplant seem to be getting side effects from them. One as I’ve previously mentioned “could be” Raynauds, but still need to tested to see if it is my meds as I do and always

3 day assessment & prognosis
Hi, After the 3-4 day lung transplant assessment was your prognosis mentioned if you chose to not go on the transplant list. I was given a lot of information regarding a transplant improving my quality of life and my hopefully having a few extra years if I was lucky enough to get a transplant. Consultant

Seeking Advice and Guidance for Ascites & Cancer combo
My precious MIL (only 58 years old) is dealing with stage 4 liver cancer accompanied by ascites, and we are desperately looking for some relief for her and praying the fluid will quit filling up her abdomen as it causes so much pain and discomfort. Her body is too weak for a liver transplant and kidneys
