Over sensitive ??
Going on a 3 day cruise in October and just been asked on Facebook if I would like one of these!! Is it silly to get upset - since my husband's illness (not alcohol related) and subsequent liver transplant I'm not sure if I'm being over sensitive or just stupid. My husband intends to take his transplant

Keep Active to Stay Healthy
After my kidney transplant in 2012, I experienced two below-knee amputations in the next two years. I learnt to walk using two prosthetic legs, aided by two walking sticks. I am encouraged to keep active to stay healthy, so I go on twice weekly walks, one with my walking coach, and twice weekly gym sessions

Stem cell webinar by MJF and 1 unanswered question
Just finished listening to the MJF stem cell seminar. It was not particularly educational neither it gave any reason for optimism. Well, judge for yourself: slides are available on MJF site. I asked the panel a question but didn't get an answer. The question was: " It was reported that people who

Vaccines
I’m traveling to Thailand in September and I need to two vaccines: MMR and Varicella. I received my kidney transplant in 4/2007. What should I do ? I remembered being vaccinated back in the early 70s but I can’t find my records. I took the blood test and my results was negative.

Taking 195mg of iron pills a day: did you lose your appetite?
My spouse with doctor's orders around July 8 started taking 195mg of iron pills a day (had been taking 65 mg for months) due to "low iron stores"/low hemoglobin and severe fatigue since February. Did anyone take a high dose of iron for a long time and lose their appetite? HE received his kidney transplant

Colonoscopy Whilst on Steroids
Hello Again! I am wondering if you could let me have your opinions before I speak to the endoscopy unit. I am having a colonoscopy later this month. I know how to live! 😊 My question is, on the day prior to the procedure, I am allowed a light breakfast - which is when I would normally take my 3mg

Kidney transplant
My husband’s GFR was 15 on his last blood test. The doctor is saying he should go on a transplant list. I heard that the immune suppressant drugs after the surgery are brutal. Those of you who’ve had transplants, (or knew someone who has) what was your/their experience? Thank you in advance ❤️

Has anyone gone through a stem cell transplant that did not put the cancer in remission? What medications did they suggest for you?

Question: bone marrow biopsy after transplant
The kidney transplant appointment yesterday did not yield good news for my spouse as we hoped about his declining hemoglobin numbers the past 6 months and now white blood count went down from 7.27 last month to 1.59 yesterday. CMV blood lab taken yesterday (last time negative and hope this is negative

Can I get a kidney transplant if I have tattoos?
I asked my nephrologist if I could get tattoos before I got them and he said yes so I did. But come to find out I'm allergic to the ink and keep getting rashes on them so I called to make an appointment with my family doctor but she was on vacation so I made an appointment with the nurse practitioner
