It seems my tongue and sometimes the roof of my mouth feel like I burnt myself with a hot beverage when that is not the case. Sometimes brushing the area with my tooth brush seems to help. I’ve tried all sorts of toothpaste formulations. In can vary during the day and from day to day. I avoid any toothpastes with SLS because it causes canker sores.
Can anyone relate?

I have that occasionally. Sometimes there is a patch of skin on the top of my mouth that comes off, like a blister. It does seem to happen if I eat something hard - like a pizza crust.
Thanks for mentioning this. I do get this . I just figured I burnt my mouth. I will keep an eye on it and see when it develops. Yet another thing to add to my long list of side effects!
Nystatin is what I’m using. I’ve been using it for five full days. I see some difference. It takes time they say. I’m going to use On Guard by doTerra once I’m done.
I used Nystatin for 3 weeks, I think it helped but as soon as I stopped the first course it came back, then again after the second course. Same with the flucanozole (sp?) tablets. I haven't heard of the On Guard, I will investigate, thanks
I've got that at the moment and it is being treated as oral thrush. I took Nystan for a few weeks which didn't do any good. It went away brefly after taking a flucanzole tablet but came back after 2 days so I took another one and it has come back again. I'm beginning to wonder if it's 'burning mouth syndrome' which my sis in law has had for years. The GP says next step could be antibiotics but I'm sure that's what caused this in the first place so am not keen and still applying Daktarin gel in the hope it'll go away. A quick Google says thrush can be very hard to treat especially if on steroids
Pardon? If it is thrush then abx will only make it worse. And it can be VERY persistent if it is spreading from the gut. I took Nystatin for a couple of months to sort it out. Have you tried a really good probiotic? That can help by providing competition for the baddies.
Thanks, that is what I thought, I'll tell my GP that, it might need a few months. Unfortunately I can't find a probiotic I can tolerate with my histamine intolerance issues they all cause gut problems
Follow up on this post I made. I decided to stop using Toms Mouthwash, which I really like and just use salt water as a mouth rinse. This seemed to have helped to the point where I hardly notice it. Let’s see what happens after awhile.
Follow up on trial of saline mouth rinse: I no longer have sore mouth. I make a cup of salt water and add a small amount of mouthwash for taste. Whenever I need to rise out my mouth after eating or brushing I use my readymade solution which I keep on hand.
