Microvascular angina and iron deficiency
I have suffered from micro vascular angina for 3 years and I now have been told I have low ferritin. I started heme iron supplements 4weeks ago and I have started to feel short of breath/air hungry. I am interested to know; a)If there is a link between MVA and iron deficiency b)If breathlessness

Feeling like I've plateaued
Hi I need reassurance, I was diagnosed with PA privately in nov last year after over a year of frequent 'not low enough for treatment on nhs' blood tests. I started eod b12 injections and apart from a break when I tried to increase to 3 days (mistake) I have seen slow improvements. A month ago I came

Milestones.
Seems to me that my milestones associated with my cobalamin issues tend to be known to me only in hindsight. I thought about it and came to understand that is the way most milestones actually happen and it is only in hindsight and my narrative of the past that milestones become apparent. I need to

Levothyroxine and cortisol/supplements timing
Hi everyone, finally had an appointment with a private thyroid specialist who has prescribed a starter dose of Levo (75 mcg), which I'll start next week. Undermedicated, why?
Not sure if anyone on here can help me understand how my GP thinks? I had half my thyroid removed in 2021 due to a goitre on the background of Hashimotos. My TSH has been stubbornly been at the top end of the range and if FT4 is measured it is also just in range. I have been feeling awful though, exhausted

Iron Infusions for RLS
Another research paper showing iron infusions of Ferric Carboxymaltose improves RLS. We now have the uphill battle of convincing our GPs and neurologists. If you are trying to persuade your medical team to follow the Mayo Clinic Algorithm and increase serum ferritin as first line treatment for RLS,

Influences of sleep and the circadian rhythm on iron-status indices
I suspect few, if any, of us have ever really thought about iron tests varying by time of day. However much we understand with regard to thyroid, somehow I think most of us imagine iron as being more "bucket chemistry". But this paper might force us to re-assess! [i]

I feel awful, I’m on 50mg of levo and have been for 5 years. Like many of you my TSH is only checked by the NHS and always considered “in range” In recent years when I’ve visited my GP about thyroid health, bloods are done and my thyroid gets lost in translation because I have too high Vit D and high

GP has reduced my Levo dose without consulting me first
Further to my last post in January I had my ferritin tested and have been taking iron supp since then. I do feel I’m getting there because of this but still feel some of my symptoms are thyroid related so requested an increase in Levo. Today I had a txt from my GP surgery “Your TSH level has fallen

I've recently had a worsening of my RLS symptoms. Now all day and night, with the odd hour of relief despite taking oxycodone (which I take for arthritic pain as well). I'm still taking Pramipexole as well. I also have extreme fatigue, and weakness (I have ME too, and Crohn's disease). It's got to the

Iron stores
Good morning I am in South Africa and see that the measurements for the different iron/ferritin levels are in another format. Does anyone know how to convert these in order for me to make sense of the advice given on this blog? For instance, it is mentioned that Serum Ferritin should be above 100. My

Has anybody noticed a change to Armour at all this year?Just wanting to rule out different possibilities to why I feel worse than usual.
I have had alot of additional tough stressors this year ,but my FT4 and FT3 have dropped despite a gradual dose increase. I am going through the list of possibilities suggested on this forum, but thought I also should ask the question has Armour changed this year, ie perhaps a filler? I understand '

Help sought with iron panel, please
I took an Advanced Thyroid panel with Medichecks on 9th February, and my ferritin came back much lower than optimal, to the point where their GP commented that it could be increased: Ferritin 51.4 (30-264) 9.15% through range I followed the advice I've seen posted here over the years and took a

Starting investigations... advice going forward?
Hi all, GP has referred me to a specialist and ordered some tests to investigate ongoing bowel issues I'm having. I'm hoping to get some advice to help me be more confident/focused and not miss asking for/giving important information going forward. For context, I'm an 'always busy' 39yo mum and shift
