hi all it’s me again regarding the horrible time my husband and I have went through due to the side affects of in our case pramixepole , or any other dopamine agonist which may have affected you.
I am not looking to sue anyone although many many cases have been taken to court in the USA and Canada but I believe the way forward is to educate.
Doctors, pharmacists, and patients need to be made more aware of the side effects. These include compulsive gambling, sexual hyperactivity (including deviant practices) buying and eating. In these cases it is impossible to resist the urge of the behaviour disorder. This is to the detriment of everything i.e. relationships, financial ruin or even arrest.
IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW HAS EVER SUFFERED FROM ONE OF THESE BEHAVIOUR DISORDERS CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN COLLATE A FILE AND PUSH TO HELP OTHERS GET THE KNOWLEDGE AND HELP REQUIRED.
I have already written to the NHS , Police, and my husband has brought it to the attention of gamblers anonymous.
Thank you

Went through it here in the states with my mom about 15 yrs ago. Went through the whole class action process. Got money back for mom . Which she continued to gamble away as she was on Requip still instead of Mirapex previously. Sigh. I understand your frustration and wish you well in your fight. The money the drug companies pay out in settlements is nothing to them.
The provocative effect is that it can elicit compulsive gambling (and other activities) in patients with absolutely NO history of gambling at all! Article here...
yes I was a casual gambler and never had any issues that impacted me in a negative way until I took prampexole. I lost 1.8 million at the hard rock hotel over a year and a half span. My behavior was out of control after prampexole. It almost cost me my marriage and everything I have. from what I understand there was a class action suite that was resolved years ago and there is nothing that can be done about it at this point. My wife has already looked into it.
Thank you I am so very sorry this has happened to you too. I am trying to collate stories to prove to everyone that my husband tried to hang him self due to the uncontrollable impulse to gamble by being on this drug. It’s traumatic and affecting our marriage and I am pushing to ensure that doctors, pharmacists not only prescribe this drug but really enforce the warning of behaviour disorders and to then follow up with the patient periodically. People don’t think of the side effects at the start as they are just glad of the relief it may give - who really looks at leaflet especially as months , years down the line think that their behaviour is related to a little pill, I am glad that you have survived and also your relationship. Thank you so much for sharing your story as it reinforces my belief that my husband could not control his behaviour. As you say your wife looked into it and if like me was shocked and horrified at what she found. Thanks again and take care
