My RLS was getting so much better I'd managed to get down to just 3 Gabapentin (900mg) at night. However, recently I've had to go right up to 8 (2400mg) which leaves me literally reeling in the morning. I'm loathe to increase my iron too much, I hate the way it messes up my guts, but I'm now considering taking it every night rather than every other night.I've been taking 280mg iron fumarate with Spatone iron solution (5mg).
Any thoughts?

You could take them every night as long as you take them at the same time so they are at least 24 hours apart. You also might consider switching to iron bisglycinate which should be easier on your gut. Did you change anything including your life style, diet, exercise, medicines or OTC supplements when your RLS got worse?
No, not that I can think of. I did cut down from 3 to 2 eggs in my breakfast omelette recently, but I'm sure that can't be it.I do have some bisglycinate tablets, but they're only 15mg.
Are you sure they are 280 mg. I have that the tablets only come in 220 mg or 322 mg and the capsules come in 305 mg. If you can tell me what their size is, I can tell you what you need to take in iron bisglycinate tablets as although they say only 15 mg, they are equivalent to more and the iron fumarate ones are equivalent to a lot less.
The more I read these posts the more confused I am about the RLS. During the 10 years I have had this condition, my doctor has not given me iron, or checked my Iron for that matter. I take 7 pramipexole tabs. per night, started with 5 I believe. I am concerned because I am a light eater and have always been skinny. I am slowly putting weight on. Anyone having the same issues? Additionally, my memory is getting lazy. I am reading there are other meds. I am certainly going to look into other options.
