Hi Everyone

i posted a while back and my results from thriva showed low transferrin saturation. since then i have tried ferrochel then i have swapped to simply Heme iron to my supplements.

i initially took 2 per day and gradually increased it but i didnt feel right on them so took them back to 2 a day and have been doing that for a couple of months.

i am thrilled that my ferritin has increased as i would have expected but my Serum iron level has dropped? any idea as to why? im back to feeling very tired again and not myself at all. i have alot of pain in my hands and feel very tired upon waking and very stiff everytime i getup from sitting down.

but there has been a lot of stress in the family with their health!

my TSH has also increased again!

i am on 100 mg of levothyroxine. (6am)

1 pump of Oestrogel Gel (6.30am)

1 pea size amount of androfemme (6.30am)

1 tablet of utrogestan (9pm)

vitamin d 2000iu (10am)

zinc (10am)

selenium (10am)

2 x b complex (10am)

2 x vitamin C 1000 (10am)

2 x glucosamine (10am)

2 x magnesium glycinate (9pm)

2 x three arrows simply heme (2pm)

any help would be much appreciated x

can’t comment on iron

humanbean msy have suggestions

You need TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested together

looks like you might need dose increase in levothyroxine

do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

retest B12 and folate at next test

You may need separate daily B12 as well as daily vitamin B complex

Are you on gluten free/dairy free diet

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
