Watching from the sidelines
Hello everyone, I just watch from the sidelines because to be truthful, I'm a rubbish runner. I finished C25K ages ago and I still plod a 5 km a couple of times a week in about 44 mins .I also do open water swimming in our local Loch. However, I started using an insulin pump 9 weeks ago and I'm struggling

Being a diabetic
Been diagnosed with diabetes a week ago, sugar levels very high, now after a week on insulin it’s back to normal. Is this normal after a week?, Also notice my heart rate is very low, which is concerning since I have Atrial Fibrillation.

What questions for GP?
Hi, Thank you all for previous responses. I have an appointment with GP next week where I’ll be discussing the results from private results. I know (thanks to you all) that I need to ask/say the list below. My question is given my symptoms, which I’ll list below too, is there anything I’m not aware of

DNA mutations impacting liver disease patients identified by Wellcome Sanger Institute and Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute
From time to time I like to post up any interesting liver research that’s recently been concluded, that may be of interest to others. When I developed end-stage liver disease back in 2015, I became diabetic. No one could tell me why, or even which type of diabetes I had. The diabetic doctor told me it

MHRA launches public consultation on future of medical device regulation
I strongly encourage you to consider replying to this invitation to submit your views. I suspect a lot of members use one or more devices and would likely have opinions worth contributing. Although not specific to Pernicious Anaemia, I'm quite sure many use devices such as autoinjectors specifically

Looking for pointers: long term (chronic) fatigue, now fibromyalgia
Hi there, I'm writing this on behalf of my wife, having obtained good advice on HealthUnlocked regarding my own health conditions and hoping to help her via this forum. My wife is (understandably) somewhat jaded, having exhausted conventional/semi conventional doctors without finding much interest in

New study from Japan. When I was diagnosed there was a clear association between dairy & PCa (particularly mortality). The smoking guns: calcium (inhibits hormonal vitamin D) & IGF-I (it promotes rapid growth in babies.) The years rolled by & suddenly, dairy was safe. & now?

I thought I would check in here as I begin my treatment journey at MSKCC in NYC. I have chosen to treat my G7 (3+4) cancer with MSK's version of SBRT called "MSK Precise" -- My doctor for this procedure is Dr. Michael Zelefsky. On Monday, 10/18, the procedure for my fiducial markers and rectal spacer

Hello I wrote here a while back about my (now) 29y old niece who has autism and moved to a different part of the country with her mum, hoping to settle there - unfortunately they are still in limbo after 3 years as they have not found a permanent place to live or any work. Week 9 Run 3!!! 🏆🏁🏅🏆🏁🏅😊
Some weeks ago I sat with this forum, and decided that I would start posting my progress. After watching the Olympics, and spending time chasing a crawling baby around the room, muttering “I’m too old for this” I decided that I would start the Couch to 5k. I don’t know why. I’ve never been interested
