Recently I had a Fibrosure test by my Primary because of rising LFT’s, AST 45 ALT 95
The results of the Fibrosure was as follows
Fibrosis Score .73
Fibrosis Stage F3-F4
Steatosis Score .71
Steatosis Grade S3-Marked or severe Steatosis
Nash Score .75
Nash Grade N2-Nash
With these results he referred me to a Gastroenterologist. He sent me for more blood work and a US. The blood work showed a possible disorder involving Iron and or Copper which definitely could contribute to Liver damage. The US confirmed increased Liver echotexture likely Steatosis, but everything else was normal, Spleen, Kidneys, Pancreas, no fluid, IVC’s
The Gastro guy said he was going to order a Fibroscan and refer me to a Hematologist for the possible blood disorder. (Still Waiting)
I’m a 69 year old male with T2D. My Primary Dr. increased my Insulin from nighttime only to also at mealtime to keep me BG tighter controlled. I’ve been keeping a food diary and have lost 8 lbs. since the Fib test 2 mo. ago. I gave up all alcohol and smoking and started an exercise program.
After reading all these post I saw the MRE test which I never heard of before, which is more accurate MRE or Fibroscan ? they both seem questionable according to some posts.
I want to thank you all so much for your posting, it gives me some hope that even if my fibrosure score is confirmed that with lifestyle changes I can stop the progression of this Illness.
